I guess knee-jerk reactions are the "in" thing. I guess if you hate the KKK for instance, you also hate all white people. Works well. Hate the ACLU? Guess you hate all minorities as well.

Nah, but seriously, animal lovers often do tend to be bat**** insane. I am honestly not kidding.

One time I got in an argument here with some dude whose pet ferret hurt itself in public because he wasn't watching it. Then the TC had the nerve to get pissed off at random passersby for not helping out HIS screaming hissing animal.

Then one time I read a post by some guy who let his pet dog run around in the street. Somebody then accidentally hit his dog, and stopped to help. The TC then went inside, got his gun, and started shooting at the dude who hit his dog.

Don't get me started on the thousands of pet owners who let their vicious dogs walk around the neighborhood unattended, to the point where citizens can't even walk down the ****ing street without getting attacked.

Or the people who put their pet cats outside, without neutering/spaying them, resulting in neighborhoods plagued by disease-ridden feral cats. These same owners then think it's an atrocity that these feral cats are rounded up and executed, even though it was their own faults for not controlling their own pets' reproduction in the first place.

And then there are people who make their dogs and cats wear sweaters and hats because they think that they are people.

And if you don't believe me, spend 15 minutes on pretty much any pet-centered internet discussion board.

Granted, there are a LOT of animal lovers who are perfectly sane, normal people. But they also tend to be the least vocal. Once you start dealing with the more vocal people, the number of psychos quickly skyrockets. I like reptiles and bugs. But I can't associate with other people who share my interests, because 99% of them seriously seem to be out of their ****ing minds.

I don't mince words when talking about PETA. They're a waste of space, and the sooner people recognize that and stop supporting them, the better. They seem more concerned with inconveniencing humans than actually helping animals.

If you love animals, donate your time and money to the SPCA or the Humane Society, not to PETA.

I think that's a slight exaggeration. :? There are wackos in every branch of humanity, but I don't think that animal lovers "tend" to be insane as if the majority are.

While PETA is right in investigated the torture of animals, it is just stupid to disallow or lobby against the slaughtering of animals that serve the bellies of billions of people in the world. It is a creature that is meant to be eaten. If slaughter houses took up a policy to swiftly kill the animal instead of letting the animal die slowly by draining the blood then that is cool with me. Just don't torture animals and don't take away my meat at the same time.

Oh, and comparing the decapitation...well, let's just say no death should be taken in comparitive perspective. No death. Human or animal. It is wrong.
