Petition to shut down 9gag and remove potatos.

So, to those who have not heard about this yet, there has recently been a large push, including a few petitions, created to shut down 9gag.

The reasoning behind this is by the discovery of one mother that her Daughter (Who has down syndrome) has been used as an internet meme for a few years now.

The Meme in question is one I'm sure we are all familiar with.

Now, 9gag, being the creativity sucking parasites that they are, foolishly claimed to have created this meme, just as they have many other memes they had nothing to do with. Unforteunately for 9gag, this has caught the attention of the mother (Who I think we can say has had her Jimmies rustled greatly).

So, even though 9gag were just being, well, 9gag, and claiming to "create" a meme they had absolutely nothing to do with are the target of the mothers supporters.Their idiocy has came around and bit them in the but.

As a caring person on the internet, I was shocked to find that people over at 9gag were mocking a girl who has down syndrome.
The website of 9gag claims to be the "creator of memes", and most images can be traced back to this horrible website.
Please, help this poor girl get her dignity back.

I honestly excpect nothing to come from this. But it is funny to simply sit with a bucket of popcorn and watch the internet as the odd occurence happens.

If the mother is truly bothered let her persue recourse through proper legal channels. Otherwise you do not have the right to demand that someone's right to free speech be squelched just because what they say offends you.
