Emotional pain, although both are clearly unpleasant.

This topic is very touchy for me. The thing is some physical pain can be huge and turn into an emotional issue while an Emotional pain deep can turn physical.
An example,i had a heart break weeks ago and i didnt eat for 3 days straight, the 4th day when i started eating,i only drank juice cause it was starting to affect me physicaly. Also at the point of the heart break i was running extremely high temperature and my heart was beating too fast,i felt feverish,it was as if i was going to have an heart attack. Till now as im typing im haunted by thoughts and i cant keep my life focused right now,its so sad.
Now i have not experienced the worse of physical pain but i can only imagine
[QUOTE="ujjval16"]Physical is by far worse. A couple of friends can make emotional pain go away.KiIIyouHow bout if all your friends died? If ALL of my friends and family died, I would probably get a pet or go make new friends. Any kind of company makes me forget about all my problems.
Lol i think people think they are meant to say emotional pain. I think it helps that i dont have the ability to suffer emotional pain, whatever that is. So yeah i'd rather not get physical pain.
Ilovegames1992
I think that's called apathy.
I can say that no emotional experience in my several decades on this planet was remotely as excruciating as waking up during my appendectomy.xaosYou regained consciousness DURING abdominal surgery? Oh god... my abs are cramping just thinking about it... you poor bastard!!!
[QUOTE="fastesttruck"][QUOTE="MgamerBD"]Physical pain. I love the people in here saying/debating about emotional pain. Honestly, it sounds like your whining :lol:MgamerBDIf its so much worse why do people cause physical pain to themselves? Cause they want attention? Their not smart enough to find a healthier to fight off stress such as working out? Also the reason why people cut themselves is because when you do the brain lets out a drug(dopamine?) to feel better. Like a short kind of high. But anyway being emo is not cool... I have been hurt emotionally sure it takes awhile but it goes away sooner or later. But physical pain can also cause emotional pain at the same time for example have you ever been slapped? It hurts man.. Since when does cutting make someone an emo?
[QUOTE="fastesttruck"]Since when does cutting make someone an emo?xaos... since always? Is today the day for being stupid?
[QUOTE="xaos"][QUOTE="fastesttruck"]Since when does cutting make someone an emo?fastesttruck... since always? Is today the day for being stupid? Only for those who post in blue.
[QUOTE="Frame_Dragger"]I'm stupid everyday. I don't need a day just for it. Then you asked a stupid question that you already knew the answer to!!!! Wow... you ARE good at this.Only for those who post in blue.

Of course. I'm stupid remember. How stupid of you to point out that a stupid person asked a stupid question. Then you asked a stupid question that you already knew the answer to!!!! Wow... you ARE good at this.

I won't satisfy you with a response to that. Oh crap. You just dropped my IQ with that exchange, but if you get me cheesecake as per your last post, I'll forgive and forget.

really?
No. I made it up. I dont think it even makes sense.[QUOTE="Super_MooRio"][QUOTE="themajormayor"]That is wrong. Ok, Get to know someone. Get to know them better than anyone you've known before. Fall in love with that person. Now watch them die. You'd rather feel that than physical pain ? I Would rather be stabbed by a thousand nails than feel my heart drop from someones passing on. Your comparing the extreme of physical pain to a relatively mild form of emotional pain. Emotional pain can never get that bad as being on the rack or being boiled alive etcI rather feel a little sad than endure hours on the rack.

Hmm, I see most people here never had both, and people can usually only judge what they've experienced.
I would like to go with Emotional Pain as the worst.
I have had the somewhat doubtful luck of having had both, and I would take broken bones, deep cuts, and acid damage any day. Those are the worst Physical pains Ive ever had, and they did NOT in any way shape or form measure up to when I was at my emotionally worst.
Which Ironically were treated with (for those who likes medical thingies) Truxal, Risperdal, Efexor and Morphine. Yeah the best the good smart Doctors could do was to pretty much drug me up for 4 years, and have me under 24/7 survailence at a hospital. It is NOT as fun or nice as it seems.
The Physical pains Ive experienced never lasted for anywhere near that, and they have not permanently messed up my head (Altho not much loss for humanity there XD)
In case of torture, which most people reverts to here as thePoster childof the worst horrible pain Imaginable, Granted it likely is, but you won't live for long enough to know it, and your brain would have lost notions of pain long before then. So while it is likely the WORST pain, it is also the shortest, if you belive otherwise you REALLY should stop watching so many movies.
The Reply for mental Pain would likely be. Being Paralysed from the neck down, for the rest of your life, Isolated and trapped within your own body, begging for death, but refused. A lonely sad, way to exist. The pain here is a mental one, hard to grasp, but just pure misery, and sadly THIS pain can go on for some 20 years if you are REALLY unlucky (I doubt the human body can last much longer being paralysed.
Ofcourse mental agony is hard to come to grasp with without having experienced it, feeling down, or suffer from a moderate depression is nowhere near the worst mental pains out there. While we all know Physical pain, and know how it hurts, why it hurts, and how bad that is.
And then comes the women XD who claims that hte most painful thing ever is childbirth, well I ain't a woman and don't know about that specific pain, but just like people who have'nt had some really bad emotional pain, I have the luck as to atleast never have to experience that XD (Altho I somehow suspect getting your legs blown off by a mine or something just MIGHT be a tad more painful then childbrth :S but hey Idunno)
Great post, but most won't listen. They think bad emotional pain constitutes having their steak slightly undercooked. Physical pain is a light switch. Emotional pain f@cks with your head and everything you are.Hmm, I see most people here never had both, and people can usually only judge what they've experienced.

Physical pain can F- you up just as badly as Emotional pain. Physical pain can persist till the day you die, and F- with your head and your very being, just like emotional pain. Not only that, but physical pain can lead to /cause serious emotional pain as well.
Taken to their extremes, Physical Pain and Emotional Pain are on nearlyequal grounds... Though, I'd give the *edge to physical pain.
As for everyday, possible pain (what are the odds someone will torture you? Make you watch as your family is tortured and eaten by cannables?), I say that they are still on equal grounds, but I'd give a slight *edge to emotional pain.
Edit: * giving the edge to somthing is refering to wich one is worse.

Eh, I find emotional to be much, much worse in the long run. I'd rather feel the pain of a broken arm than be living in a waking nightmare in my head constantly. Physical pain, as horrible as it is, is superficial. Emotional is not.I can endure neither of them. extreme physical pain or emotional pain both make people to die. I think we can't comparing them

You simply haven't experience the physical pain that's strong enough. Just imagine the pain of someone stab you in the stomach using 3 inches wide and 6 inches long knife for every 10 minutes every single day for the rest of your life. That's unbearable for most people.
And that's a legitimate example when your spine is messed up and causing you to feel pain without actually getting injured. Many killed themselves for that.
I think I would rather feel the pain of being stabbed like that every 10 minutes over that feeling after someone really close to you dies that never really seems to go away completely and pops up every year around holidays. But that is relative. There probably isn't a correct answer as to which is worse, just opinion. Comparing extremes of both cases is probably pointless. I have a question I was thinking about, though, where does phantom pain fall? You know when you hear stories about people that have had say a limb amputated, and then feel pain in that limb that isn't really there?Great post, but most won't listen. They think bad emotional pain constitutes having their steak slightly undercooked. Physical pain is a light switch. Emotional pain f@cks with your head and everything you are.MirkoS77Just because someone says emotional pain isn't by default the worse pain does not mean that they have not had profound emotional pain. It could just mean, just like healing from physical pain, that they healed and are strong willed. Not everyone who suffered from emotional pain lays down and suffers. People are so delicate these days that if they suffer some emotional shock they think they have to keep suffering. Even in extreme emotional pain there are ways out beyond pills, depression, or trying to forget and not deal.
