Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I was 12 when I watched it and I haven't seen the original, but it was good, I liked it.

One of the most forgettable movies Burton has ever made.

The gun he was using at the end was very noisy.

It was a major letdown considering I'm a big fan of the originals. Wasn't terrible, but I didn't care for it much.

It used to be my favourite movie, and the original was my second favourite. The original is still one of my favourites, but the remake is now far behind.

It was okay up until the end where there's always been a big fat WTF hanging over it.

It was pretty pointless, there are five better movies in the original franchise and it was way out of Tim Burton's element. It was okay but I wouldn't have watched it of my own volition.

I didnt like the end. Why if the apes have made it back to earth have exactly the same police uniforms, cities and monuments as humans? I mean lets assume they over threw humans by force, its just seems daft they would emulate our lives exactly. Wouldn't they develop their own society, culture etc? Silly ending imho.

You misunderstood the ending totally. There was a paradox in the time travel. During the process, one of the guys who died was actually the ancestor of the person who invented the razor-blade. Hense why everyone was so hairy at the end.

Riiggght *facepalm* silly me lol. It makes perfect sense now, thanks. Thats why they were arresting him then, he must look really bizarre with no hair.

as a fan of the original, i must say that watching burton's remake was like getting my groin stomped for 2 hours. the original certainly could have benifitted from a remake, but not anything like burton did it.

Having Tim Burton make a Planet of the Apes remake sounded genius, but ended in disaster.

I though Paul Giamotte was hilarious, and the ending made my head explode, but other than those it wasn't too hot. Watchable though. 6/10
