Next thing you know, the breakdancers are going to want their own event. And then, the panhandlers demand inclusion into the Games. Where does it end? Curling as an Olympic sport?FragStains
I admit, I lol'd.
I never knew pole dancing was a "sport." :?
I think any "sport" that has to be "judged" by a panel of people subjectively applying what they think, shouldn't be in the Olympics.

so the only thing allowed is a game with goals and directly achieved points?I think any "sport" that has to be "judged" by a panel of people subjectively applying what they think, shouldn't be in the Olympics.

*Buys tickets to all future olympics* But seriously, that'll be weird. Would they broadcast it on TV? And would this mean other forms of dancing are now going to be olympic sports? Olympic Ballerinas?Darth_Silver
Ice Dancing is already a medal sport.

Ice Frolicking is currently under review by the IOC for inclusion into the 2014 Sochi Games. /deadpanTo clarify, pole dancing has not officially been added as an Olympic event. It's just "in the discussions".nocoolnamejimProbably won't be....

I don't see why. Honestly, dancing isn't really something you can judge unless everyone is doing the same dance. Otherwise it's a matter of opinion on whose was better.take your mind out of the typically strip club. I remember watching a report months ago where theres a fitness group that does pole dancing and it isnt as "filthy" as one will think . No booty shaking and skinny girls with fake breast. Its an art and takes skill. Almost like the ice skating at the current Olympics.
You say you want it now, but wait until they have the men's pole dancing competition.ChowsSNjust like the mans figure skating, just dont watch.
It should be added. The contestants would be fully clothed though if it does come to the Olympics though. It is sort of a sport and it requires a lot of skill and talent. I've been to clubs where some girls were good and others sucked completely and didn't do anything. I hate strip clubs btw.
For some of you that doubt the ATHLETIC ability of some of these girls...WATCH THIS...seriously -they are ******* amazingrawsavon
Oh, nobody is doubting that they're amazing. But their athletic abilities are up for question. Let's face it, you're never going to meet one person who tells you that they don't think of bazombas when they hear the words "pole dancing". Even women equate pole-dancing with greasy women named Cookie and Peppermint (mmm... peppermint cookie...). It's not just a case of "men are pigs". And I somehow doubt that anybody has such little self-respect that they'd actually be thought of as a stripper for -- almost literally -- the ENTIRE WORLD to see. The only reason they would be putting this in would be the exact same reason why people do anything: money. This is not a sport. This is a talent, but it's not a sport. And I know quite a few other talents that-- oh, that one's too easy, I'm sure you can just fill in the blanks (which is as far as I'll go, joke-wise).
Not to mention the fact that it actually wouldn't be as popular as you'd think. Women wouldn't watch the women's comp. for... y'know, all the stuff I said. And men wouldn't DARE watch the men's comp., just because of what their buddies would call them. It really wouldn't take off, if it ever happened.
