If the war actually occured.. We would all be dead, due to the nuclear exchange which would occur.
World War III? Not remotely likely, especially from something like this. Russia probably has nothing to do with this. They have no interest in controlling resentful satelite states that cost way too much money to maintain control of anymore.
What about Iran being involved? Ahmadinejad announced that they had "fully mastered nuclear technology." That was less than a day ago. So Iran says they have mastered nuclear tech while the USA has made negotiations with Russia to decrease their number of nuclear arms. What if Iran thinks that this is a good time to strike?

No, this won't cause WW3. The assassination of Franz Ferdinand wasn't really the cause of WW1 either; it's just a neat little time point we teach in schools because the actual reasons are so complex. By 1914; the Great Powers of Europe had split into factions and were all so on edge the slightest international incident was going to set them off. It was the catalyst, not the cause.

That does not in any way imply that Russia's government sanctioned such an action; there are such things as terrorists.Terrorists tend to get funding from governments whether they admit to or not.

Of course not. Europe doesn't stand up for itself militarily, much less Poland alone. It would take a full on invasion of Western Europe by Russia or China to start World War 3. And even then, I don't know if Europe would do anything about it. Barack Obama sure wouldn't.
Please, Europe? Everyone knows that when WW3 will start, it will start in the middle east. And when it's over we're gonna get 20 new MoH games and 7 new CoD games. Hopefully the latter won't be under Activision's contrl anymore..
