I disagree pretty vehemently with the way they categorized President Obama, they seem to be ascribing political views to him based not on his stance on certain issues but on what has transpired politically, much of it beyond his control. For example, they criticize him for presiding over an extension of the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy, but fail to mention that he has consistently opposed extending them and has only supported extending them to protect the Bush tax cuts for the rest of the population, not to mention that the ball is in Congress' court on that issue and he never could have gotten a bill passed that extended only the middle class cuts. Still, that graph does serve as a good example of how the political spectrum is skewed in this country. The talking heads are constantly accusing the President of being far-left, and all of us who actually are left of center are scratching our heads.

Not suprising. Europe's spectrum is farther left than America's is. Obama would be a center-right in France.

President Hollande is one of the only Western Politicians I've ever seen in the green segment. I think Mandela is there if you consider him Western.

Add to that the ridiculous understanding of neoconservatism as conservative. Any European would label republicans as liberal (or atleast a perverted derivativeof classical liberalism).

Smith and Mill were indeed cool peoples. This dichotomy is just straight up wrong. Hitler being on the left. It only makes sense when you use this line graph to define left lol.
