Politically Correct

The thread, "Would you vote for an openly gay president?" inspired me to create this thread. People who have views that are not politically correct are shunned. Why is this? Do we not have freedom of speech? If anyone does not like gays, blacks, abortion, etc. they are bashed and flamed. Why? RiSkyBiZ-13

They DO have freedom of speech. The KKK has the constitutional right to say that blacks are the worst thing since unsliced bread.

Here's the thing. I have freedom of speech too, and that gives me the right to "bash and flame" racists.

Now, when the majority of peoplke take offense to things like open and blatant racism, the majority of people are going to "bash and flame" the minority who do it.

And that's their right. The right to free speech guarantees me the right to bash and flame racists. If you're not willing to get bashed and flamed by me, then just don't be a racist.

It's that simple.

Being black would be awesome. You would have a bigger man toy, you're better at athletics, you have rhythm, and you're allowed to get a college education even if you don't deserve it. Plus, you don't look stupid when you're bald. kdt55

You can also say the n-word all you want, but then when a non-black person says it, you can sue them and get enough money for a new house with furniture included, because you manipulated "political correctness" to come out in your favor.

It's bad politics. It applies to politicians and businessmen As a politician you don't want to alienate voters you want to suck up to voters. As a businessman you don't want to piss off customers you want make sales so you kiss the customer's ass.

Political correctness doesn't belong anywhere else but people often excercise it to cover up or avoid problems. Not everyone uses tact and nobody wants to hear the truth.
