If you've ever made a poll you know that there are only 5 slots. Which ones would you take out and switch around, huh?

[QUOTE="Rikardur"]What the hell is wrong with your poll!?!?!? :|
Where's Black Metal, Folk Metal, Viking Metal, and Symphonic metal? Did you just pick your favourite subgenres?
Jeez. Some people

You could of generalized them more, such as using Extreme Metal (which is an umbrella term for Thrash, Death, Black, and Doom metal). You could also group Power Metal with Symphonic (because of similarities). Like someone said earlier you could of merged glam with traditional.
I'm sorry if I seem critical. And btw, I didn't mean to be harsh with my previous post if it seemed that way.
Opeth isn't even death metal, they're way more progressive if anything. I voted for prog, and I'm actually starting to get into Death metal, with bands such as Necrophagist, and The Faceless (really melodic technical death metal)Revolver_Ocelot
[QUOTE="Juggernaut140"][QUOTE="nimatoad2000"]get pantera outa thrash, thrash should be metallica, megadeth, anthrax and slayer
why isnt judas priest in the tradish?
i persoanlly like tradish heavy / thrash ( not too much death /black ) and prog.
nimatoad2000
Pantera owns Anthrax. Take Metallica out and put in Megadeth or Artillery
you might not want to accept it, but metallica's first four cd's are better than all of pantera, antrax, megadeth (yes even megadeth, me being the hugest rust in peace fan too ), testements' stuff.
thats why everyone says after the 3 godfathers of metal ( sab priest maiden) metallica are the next most influential.. theirs a reason behind it.
Wow, I mean... just wow. Megadeth has always and always will be better than Metallica. You're kidding yourself if you say otherwise.
Metal has to be the worst music in existance.thegfl
Elaborate please.
Oh wait I'll do that for you in the opposite.
Metal has to be the best music in existance...BECAUSE...
-Incredible instrumental skills(for the good artists, and let me tell you that the number of good artists outweighs the bad)
-Vocals(again, for the good artists and depending on the type of genre)
-Originality(again, for the good artists)
-Meaning(the time and thought put into each song)
Please do not bring your closed-mindedness in here again.
I prefer thrash/speed metal.
And I'd also like to use this post as an opportunity to say that some sub-genres sound kind of similar, and just because I can't distinguish deathcore from metalcore doesn't make me a fool.
WTF is that poll...
Death and Black are closer from each other than Trash and Death... it's an aberration...
Redgarl
lol wut, if you're trying to say death and black are more alike than thrash and death, then you need a new pair of ears.
And OP is a blasphemer for calling Panterrible thrash.

Even though this is generalization with numerous exceptions, I agree. Thrash and death are much closer together than death and black.

Prog metal, but Dream Theater shouldn't be even included on the list. They have to be one of the most overrated bands on the planet. The only things they have going for them is musicianship.
I don't get Dream Theater, all of the musicians in the group can pretty much arguably be placed in the top 10 for their instruments. Yet when you put them together, they don't seem anywhere near there. I mean how the hell does that work out. :PProg metal, but Dream Theater shouldn't be even included on the list. As for the poll: Thrash/Death Metal FTW!

Someone just needs to shut up LaBrie is all and they would be a flawless band IMO:PTraditional/Doom Metal (Black Sabbath, Dio, Iron Maiden, Saxon)
I don't know what the hell Doom Metal is, but I like all those bands.

LaBrie has a nasaly voice, which corresponds to vocal immaturity. I just don't like the music that they try to create. I'm a big prog metal fan, but it seems like Dream Theater's lyrics aren't any good, and a lot of the technical stuff they try to do just ends up copying Queensryche. We all know that they are pretty much the most accessible band in the genre, but I just don't get where their popularity comes from. I guess it's Petrucci's guitar
