I don't care what anyone says, it's impossible. People take the quick way out and say Einstein was studying it but he never proved it to be possible. Most people think time travel is real cause of myths they read about like the Philadelphia Experiment. Look at what supposedly happened when some people on that ship time traveled:

"Still other members, like Jacob L. Murray, would be physically unaccounted for - supposedly "vanished" - and five of the crew were would have been fused to the metal bulkhead or deck of the ship. Still others would have faded in and out of sight. Sometimes they would disappear, then crewmates would stick their hands into the spot they had disappeared and try to grab the crewmate, but, if they did not, that spot would burst into flames. Horrified by these results, Navy officials would have immediately canceled the experiment. All of the surviving crew involved would be discharged; in some accounts, brainwashing techniques would be employed in an attempt to make the remaining crew members lose their memories concerning the details of their experience."

What I just quoted above from an article is absolutely terrified and fascinating at the same time and it would be so cool if that really happened, but it didn't. If you break some glass there is no way to magically go back in time to hold the glass before it broke. I don't care about black holes in space and other stuff. Time travel = impossible. Although I wish the possibility of time travel was real cause the thought of time travel is incredibly interesting.

I'm kind of on the fence. It seems so impossible, but then if you think about it, science is advancing really quickly. I hope it is someday.

I think so... There was an article I read a while ago about how scientists need to make a sort of "loop" in time, but that no human would be able to survive going through the loop... Yeah.

Not right now...obviously. In the future, maybe. There are a lot of paradoxes but there may be some way to avoid them in the future.

I've heard somewhere that scientists have said that if a time machine were created, it could only travel into places of time where the machien had already been invented. So maybe that would explain it.

Unless there are parallel worlds created EVERY time someone traveled back in time, no.
Otherwise we would see people coming from the future....Or maybe our society is like this because of influences from the future!
I could write on and on about this, but I don't want to and Im going to bed.

It will never be possible. I mean, does time even exist, or is it just a simple way of organizing the one instant that goes on in this world (which is now)? Plus, wouldn't we see people from the future if we ever were going to discover it.

IT has been scientificly proven. travel between space and time si completely possibly. in the atom, protons travel through space and time to get from one orbit section of the nucleous, to the next one. they dont travel like fegualr entitys do, they just pop in and out of their orbits.

Alright, this will be tough but let's try and simplify this.

Prove to me that time exists. Go ahead, prove to me that there is, infact, a tangible timeline. Can you do it? Scientists sure can't. And that's the whole thing. The past *happened*, but it does not exist. The future *will* happen, but it does not exist. The only reason time exists is because this universe can record change, it builds upon previous events, it moves forward. Stars age and die. In a theoretical sense that allows a past. But it does not *exist*. It is not some realm that you can travel to. It isnt stored in the universal hard-drive or ram and all you have to do is revert to a previous save.

So, infact, you can't travel back in time. Doing so would involve changing the universe. Any previous state of our universe no longer exists except in visible light. It doesnt exist physically. So you would have to create a machine capable of controlling every quantom particle in the universe, and would have to have a computer record that knows the exact position of every atom and every sub-atomic particle at the point in time you want to revert the timeline to. In short - Not happening.

It just doesnt seem possible... I mean look at it like this... In order for this to work things that are already dead would have to be alive again... so how could a machine bring everything back... make it exactly the same... and bring someone into that time... it just doesnt seem like its every gonna happen.

I mean its not like the past is still being lived... its done and gone... plain and simple...

I was actually watching a program on the History Channel about it, and they said we're well within a century away from finally making it possible. It was interesting because they even explained how the machine distorts light, and I think involved some magnets manipulating the light spinning in a circle extremely fast. They said the machine would only work if it was on continuously and the only points in time you could travel to are times when the machine was on. For instance if you finally got the machine running in August of 2008, then you could only travel to points in time August 2008 onward. I don't remember what else it said but yeah, I believe it's possible.

To me all your opinions are " No/Yes, because this is the way i see it and i said so" There is Absolutely no Sound Evidence to Prove either sides, but there is mathematical/physics calculation that gives some le-way for an theory to exist. but thats about it. "time" and space can be manipulated and is already found that way in select area's of the universe. But who's to judge What and What is Not Possible in our Universe? And why is your opinion carved in stone? i sense.. arrogance

There are a lot of reasons why it wouldn't work, but the one nobody ever thinks about is that the earth is spinning and moving outward from the center of the galaxy. So if you went ten years back in time you wouldn't still be on the earth, you'd be out in deep space.

Sure, time travel is possible... I one direction, forward.

Think about it. The very existance of a device that could travel forwards and backwards through time would shake the universe apart. It would open the door to any and all causal possibilities at the same time. I don't believe it to be possible.

i think i saw that.. they were talking about sending information through time.. not actually physically sending a person. i think the guy's theory was one could send a message back to himself in the past.

I have traveled in time before, and therefore I know it is possible. You will never fully understand the ability of time travel unless you let go of your mind and body, and let your spirit and soul free. In this world of matter, people feel like they need medicine and electronics. In order to truly experience the sensation of time travel, you must be fully spiritual with clean thoughts that are untouched by material items, such as video games, drugs, and medicine. Only when you become %100 spiritually based will you be able to travel through time.

From what I've read, traveling forward in time at an accelerated rate is possible, but traveling backwards is impossible.Even then,it's impossible based on our current limitations of technology to do so.One of the possible ways I've read to travel forward in time is to get near a black hole without entering its event horizon ("point of no return") and experience its immense gravity since time runs slower as gravity gets stronger.Yeah, like we have a ship that can survive the crushing pressures of a black hole, the radiation, and that can actually travel far enough to get to a black hole, along with a ton of other problems.

There's no such thing as time, everything is just changing. There is no past or future, only the present.

Plus, if time travel was possible, don't you think we would see future technology being used in the past? Or people from the future contacting us?

The only way time travel would be possible is if we traveled into another universe like ours using quantum mechanics.

I believe it's entirely possible, but governments will likely ban it due to future-persons going back in time and possibly messing around here, unless the government already knows that they did it and it needs to happen to keep the future-present together.

Pretty much: yes, but only if it keeps the time-stream flowing.
