I wish I could understand the mindset of people who think she shouldn't.

She isn't going to strip naked and wear revealing clothes to school, is she? And its not like the kids would know (depending on their age). She isn't hurting anyone, and she wants to do this and if you have a problem with allowing someone to do something that makes them happy without hurting anyone, then you live in the wrong country and should get over yourself.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with her being a part of the reading program. The people who are opposed to it are being self-righteous pricks.

Well for one thing she's not applying for a teaching job. She's reading some books to some kids. That's it. For another thing even if she were applying to be a teacher her past, in this case, has no relevance to the job she's applying for. However a criminal history might have some bearing on someone wanting to be a lawyer.
