I don't know why I keep posting things like this since no one actutually reads/watches them...

Some nice mellow hippie music.

Some rocking the **** out.

Some soulfull blues.

A little jazz.

More rocking the **** out, because really, you can't do it enough.

Some good folk.

The best country music you could ever hope to find.

Some country/rock hybrid thing.

Latin rock (or whatever Santana plays).

Faaaaar out, man.

The Beatles (who also happen to be rocking the **** out).

i didn't say ALL of linkin park did i? i actually like hybrid theory, they were WELL in that one, but then... meteora came, and it was still great, around the same level as HT, and now, they're crap compared to what they used to be... rolling stones aren't bad nirvana are somwhat overrated, still enjoy some of their stuff, not a fan of pink floyd

Nuts and Bolts - David Wise (video was uploaded during YouTube Horrible Audio Month, so there's some volume inconsistency. Still better than the SNES version though.) Illusionary Dance - Naoto Shibata My favorite part of this song is the snare drum. It's forcefulness makes me think of a titan stomping his foot. I also like "dark" songs in general. Green Grass and High Tides - The Outlaws The feat of staying interesting for 10 minutes alone impresses me. The whole time it builds up to a climactic 2-minute oxymoronic dueling guitar solo. Golden Sun overworld theme - Motoi Sakuraba One of the most "epic" songs I've heard. Every time I hear it I get a sinking, yet warm and fuzzy feeling, which I presume is nostalgia. The Weight of Time - Evil-Dog "Cool unique guitar riffs" describes the entire song. It's also has a drummer doing something interesting and not just base-base-snare-base repeated forever Dementia - N.EX.T Epic and awesome; what more could I ask for? This song defines "horror metal" as its own personal genre. I also like unconventional use and combination of instruments, and this song incorporates a crowd clapping into the percussion despite not being live. National Park - Junichi Masuda / Go Inchinose The ultimate song to lift your spirits. Starts out mellow, the comes the solo for a burst of ecstasy. Yoshi's Island Athletic theme - Koji Kondo #1 happiest song ever composed. Coactive - SGX (anime video thing has nothing to do with the song) An example of techno that doesn't suck. It uses loops, but it actually changes them in a way other than "add the first loop, then another, then another, then start over and repeat", and there's an actual melody playing for most of the song. It also doesn't use annoying stutters or threshheld sounds. Kill Dog as a Sacrifice to Dog - Daisuke Ishiwatari / Yoshihiro Kusano / Tetsuya Ohuchi Hard to narrow it down to one song given the diversity in Ishiwatari's music, but it turns out the one with the screaming fuzzist is my favorite. This song shows that you can make a dark, low-tone thrash metal song with interesting riffs rather than just wailing on the same power chord really fast. It also shows that you can still have a melody.

Muse-Sunburn

Opeth-Demon of the Fall

Nirvana-Drain You

Nine Inch Nails-The Perfect Drug (Best drum solo EVER!)

Oomph-Beim Ersten Mal Tuts Immer Weh

I am honestly not expressing a good amount of my music taste through only 10 songs but this is the best I could do.

Ize of the World by The Strokes (solo is so epic yet simple)

Rattlehead by Megadeth (excellent thrash)

Trapped Under Ice by Metallica (more thrash)

Plug In Baby by Muse (epic guitar is epic, see them live whenever you can)

Hearts Alive by Mastodon (13 sweet minutes that fly by, unfortunately youtube doesn't have full song with kickass solo)

On Top by The Killers (these pricks make good songs)

Air War by Crystal Castles (clubs should play this instead of the mainstream crap they do, it's just cool and trippy)

Regular John by Queens of the Stone Age (or just any other QOTSA song, they are all great)

Hope by The Smashing Pumpkins (possibly best instrumental I've heard, youtube doesn't have it so I leave you with Mayonaise)

Elderly Woman Behind The Counter In A Small Town by Pearl Jam (my favorite lead singer :))

That sums it up nicely, but 10 is a too small number.

Only one track per band? You *****! Ok here goes. I'm not doing this to be awkward, but you'll see that my list varies considerably!

  1. Vagient - Seven
  2. The Birthday Massacre - Violet
  3. Sneeker Pimps - How do
  4. The Pixies - Tame
  5. Velvet Acid Christ - Phuking Freak
  6. Korn - Shoots and Ladders
  7. Blink 182 - I Miss you (That's the only song I like from them, I heard they worked with Robert Smith from The Cure on that track).
  8. Cruxshadows - Winterborn(I want to shag his dancers)
  9. My Chemical Romance - Helena
  10. Muse - New Born

Maybe there is some kind of correlation to it, one thing that can be said is I don't listen to any of the Scandinavian death / progressive / heavy / smelly / whatever metal that a lot of you guys are into, and also no hip-hop. Mine is a mixture of stuff which happens to of hit the mainstream and things so underground you'll practically have to goto Hell to discover it. I tend to like things with a dark or Gothic undertone.

Oh all the Metallica songs you pick, you pick that one. I mean, to each his own, but that is easily one of Metallica's worst songs.
