i think caring about post counts is a bit lame, but that's just my opinion. it's not like it is any indication of quality of post, or personality. a lot of people with high post counts just do a ton of borderline disruptive 2-3 word posts.

um not really and does anybody really care that much about their post count anyways? I mean sure we have 10k post parties but I just figure thats a reason to make a pointless thread.
Who cares? It's not like post counts get you anything on this site. Besides, OT is the most popular forum on here by far with the only other forum coming remotely close to matching it's popularity being System Wars. So considering that OT makes upa massive chunk of these forums' activityI'd say that it should count in a user's post count. It's 5.2 million posts pretty much eclipse every other forum's post counts on this site. Indeed, if you get rid of System Wars, X360, and PS3 forums OT has more posts than every other forum on this site combined.
I didn't think of it to be a big deal and I don't think the D_D really cared that much. Its not like getting a 6th digit is that hardI've only seen two users care about getting 6 digits so I don't think that's true.

What do you see as a high post count? I fail to see how us that have 50K and up have made a lot of 3 word posts.... users that do that don't last very long it seems.i think caring about post counts is a bit lame, but that's just my opinion. it's not like it is any indication of quality of post, or personality. a lot of people with high post counts just do a ton of borderline disruptive 2-3 word posts.

I hate post party topics. TBH I see no point in pointing out you made it to a new number. [QUOTE="AtomicBaconBits"]My question is... Why does this said user care so much about post counts to even care? This isn't a competition; it's not that important My guess is they are jealous that they don't have that many them selfsum not really and does anybody really care that much about their post count anyways? I mean sure we have 10k post parties but I just figure thats a reason to make a pointless thread.

i admit when i first started posting i wanted to have a high post count but ive realized that it really makes no difference. however the real thing that i want to accomplish is to at least be recognized or kinda known around OT but ive got a long way to go cuz i dont post nearly as much as i want to in OT:(
and i dont think post in OT or unions should not count becuase like previous users have said, a post is a post.
