Oh yeah, if you use Ubuntu - isn't the Print Screen button cool lol

A dual-boot is having two operating systems on the same computer. Many people here have Windows running alongside Linux.wait what the f is dual thing?

I find that I absolutely love how you can tailor everything and anything to exactly the way you want it and the eye candy is fantastic but I still need XP for gaming

Like if you save a file it saves to the CD? Yes, you can save everything you do to the CD if you want. It's faster to mount it on a USB flash drive, though. Then you don't even need a CD. You just insert your flash drive into any computer and turn it on, and you've got your whole OS. It's also incredibly fast, because it loads itself completely into your RAM if you've got at least 128MB. The entire OS is less than 100MB in size, and comes with a web browser, chat client, word processor, spreadsheet program, DVD player, and just about everything else you could want. It will run on a computer with as little as 24MB of RAM.

Yeah, Linux isn't the best for commercial gaming. WINE and CrossOver Games are making huge progress though. You can now play WoW, Oblivion, and all of the Steam games on Linux with no problems.^Why not just minimize the buddy list?famicommander
because I wanted to show off the title bars. I like how the other windows have a see through effect and the main window is very clear.
[QUOTE="VacantPsalm"]DUUUUUUUDE! Do want!:o How hard is it to do? Do you need to have Linux already or can you just download it? Lawl, it would probably be easier for you if you just give me a link or word to Google that will lead me to a site that explains it.:P So many questions. Can I transfer stuff from the original computer's OS to it?famicommander1. It's very easy. 2. You don't already need Linux. 3. puppylinux.org 4. Have fun.Thank you very much.^-^ *takes link and runs off like a 16 year old kid with car keys* [QUOTE="spyke412"]OS X: I'm too lazy to restart my computer to get a picture of windows though:PWait, you duel boot Mac and Windows? Are you doing that on a Mac or a PC?
i have ubuntu but its so inconvenient when i try to do simple things like add music to my phoneDecko5Linux is overrated, now i'm not saying Linux isn't great, but it is overrated. This is simply because everyone wants to do their own thing and they can't come together to try and take down Microsoft.

You have to jump through hoops to do simple things and companies won't support it like that guy just said so his phone doesn't work. If you don't do anything dumb you can stay safe in Windows, if you want to learn about computers you can tweak Windows to run even better. Or there is always a Mac, which is linux but simpler ;) Also maybe the Gamespot Folding team should come and recruit people in threads like these................[QUOTE="H8sMikeMoore"]Linux is overrated, now i'm not saying Linux isn't great, but it is overrated.[QUOTE="X360PS3AMD05"][QUOTE="Decko5"]i have ubuntu but its so inconvenient when i try to do simple things like add music to my phoneX360PS3AMD05

If you go into linux thinking its windows, then chances are you'll hate it.
Mac is NOT linux but easier. The only thing they share in common is that mac has a unix base, and the linux is "unix like" but mac is for people who dont want to learn about computers, or have anything the way they want it. the unix-linux thing is dissmissable because i would say around 98% of mac users dont use the Unix foundation of there system. So, arguably you could say linux and mac have basically nothing in common.
