Well for one more people are adopting it, I don't have a problem with that at all hell I like Ubuntu and have it as a dual boot but Windows Vista is my main machine. My problem is it's long term effects.

If Ubuntu starts gettin adobted en mass then there won't be a need in the IT field. When the IT fields dry up then where does all the jobs go? People are left jobsless cause Ubuntu doesn't require much upkeep. Ubuntu doesn't require much upkeep cause the people developing it have a mindset of"We don't need no IT fields!"

Computer technicians and various other computer related jobs will dry up cause linux has taken over. Imagine it, millions of jobs and countless buisnesses all gone cause of Linux. Don't gimme wrong, but I feel like all linux will do is take jobs away.
