OT, what's the fastest time you've ever ran a mile? For me, a very mediocre 6 minutes, 1 second.

Anybody under 5 minutes?

Around 6 min. I suppose I could do a little better, but it is not worth the strain. I do run 5 days a week though, but the fastest I go is 10mph

During my best football shape in HS, I could probably get under 5 minutes easily (fast, and had a pretty good amount of endurance).

But I never actually timed myself in a mile run.

I did a 4:50 something mile in basic. I probably couldnt run a mile now ( even given infinite amount of time ) without collapsing.

5:47. I ran track in HS. I would probably take over10 minutes now since I've become progessivelly more inactive as I get older. In other words: I'm a big fat lard-o. D;

Something in the 5's. I don't like to run fast on treadmills and that's the only time I run that sort of distance. I prefer running shorter distances and just building speed. Much more bearable workouts, for me at least.

I agree, I'm very impressed.

On a side note, I really wish I could be in the shape I was early last year again . I'm not out of shape by any means, but I'm just not in as good shape as I used to be.

I ran a 4 minute 40 second mile my senior year in high school. Well, it was the 1600m race which we called the mile. Can't come close to that now, but I run longer distances.

I never did one mile. It's always been a mile and a half.My best time in that is around 10 minutes. Not the best time*. But, I can play 90 minutes of fast attacking soccer. Since I was always fullback or sweeper, I did a lot of running chasing after wily strikers. That meant I was also pretty good at sprints.

*Plus, the mile and a half is just a warm up run anyway.

6 minutes, but I usually stick to a 7:30-8:00 minute mile, the pace is much more efficient for me.

I don't know, I never ran the mile caring how fast I could finish it. They'd make it run it in high school, but I'd run for like a minute and then walk the rest of the way. Not really because I was tired but because I was super lazy and I'd talk to one of my pals instead of running.

I also am not a speed runner by any means. I am way more into distance. I think the fastest I ever ran was a 10 minute mile and it nearly gave me a heart attack. I have rather short legs so it take alot more to try to go fast. Distance to me is everything. I would do a nice 5 or 7 miler anyday! :)

I'm not really sure if I could do a mile on a regular track in under 5 minutes. I know it's a lot easier but I run a 5-minute mile on the treadmill every few days.

I never really do 1 mile. A 5km (3.1mi) run for me takes about 18 min, so it probably takes me around 6 min for 1 mile.

I have no idea, last time I ran a mile was in grade 4. That was the last one I measured. I don't know how far a mile is though:? I could easily do it, I just don't know when to stop.

That's only State Level. Anyways.

Here are my times (I go into detail :P)

Finally! A Thread about Running Times! :D

Lets see, I can run the mile in about 5 minutes usually. (I run track and cross country :))

I run the 800 (half mile) in about 1:57 seconds.

I run the 400 in 56 seconds.

I don't run the 2 Mile.

My fastest 5k (3.2 Miles) time is 20:20. But this season I'm getting it down to at least 19:00.

I know you only asked for mile times, but I love running. :) My friend, he is even faster than me... He runs the Mile in under 5 minutes, the 2 mile in under 11:30, and a 5k in about 16 minutes...

5:09. I was terribly disappointed with myself last year (sophomore high school). I hardly improved at all from my freshmen times. Though, I had an inflamed growth plate in my left knee that seriously impeded my running for a good amount of time.

As cross country practice has been going all summer, and I've been doing significantly better, I could probably, probably break 5:00 now. However, since it is cross country and not track, I don't have the opportunity to find out.
