Pot Banned for Tourists in the Netherlands

If I really wanted to smoke pot that bad I would probably just move to one of those states that has medical marijuana instead of spending thousands to go to Amsterdam. I already have back problems so I doubt I would have too much trouble getting a card for pain.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was the U.S. Lobbying groups putting pressure on Netherlands for stricter Marijuana.

US has quite the international presence on drug trafficking enforcement.

Damn, now besides to visit Praline I have no other reason to go there.

The elections being held in September will bring in a new government that might not uphold the ban either.

It doesn't bother me that this was enacted. I was in the Netherlands for 3 months a couple of years ago and though I would have liked to have visited a coffee shop, I like my job too much to do anything that could cause problems. I would visit the Netherlands for other reasons that the Amsterdam red light district and coffee shops. I want to go back and visit Nijmegen and Eindhoven.
