...with 270towin.com

I predict that Obama will win 303 to 235. Here is my map: http://www.270towin.com/2012_election_predictions.php?mapid=pOn

I apologize for the crudeness of the link, but for some reason GS won't let me do proper links to my 270towin.com map.

Obama will win most likely.

Based on Electoral polls, not national polls, he's already got a huge lead.

Obama will win through landslide.

I am not convinced that Mitt Romney will win at all.

What's your definition of a landslide victory?

Like he'll win with the most electoral college votes and highest popular vote (above 70%)?

Maybe I'm exaggerating.

Obama by a landslide.

Romney just isn't likeable or relatable for most people. He's a lame duck candidate who's like the Republican version of John Kerry.

With all due respect, you definitely are exaggerating.

His popular vote percentage will be 52% at the most and probably not even that. Probably more like 51% to Romney's 48%.

As far as the electoral college is concerned, I think Obama will win pretty handily, but I don't think it will be a landslide.

Yeah, just a little. Most projections have Romney taking 20-25 states and 200-ish electoral votes, vs Obama taking 25-30 and 330-ish. A comfortable victory, but far from a landslide.

bigfoot2045

Same question for you as the other guy - what would you consider to be a landslide victory?

There's not a single projection out there forecasting anything remotely close to a landslide (or what most people would call a "landslide").

I like to bash Willard as much as the next guy but how is Romney a religion nut? If anything, he's one of the Republicans who is best about keeping his religion out of his political persona and platform. Now if you want a good example of a religion nut candidate, look no further than Michelle Bachmann, Rick Santorum, or Mike Huckabee (didn't actually think Huckabee was a nut at first, but then he said something about making the Constitution more like the Bible).

Obama will win because Romney is essentially a Republican version of John Kerry. That being said I doubt it will matter at all who wins. The republicans and democrats have made it clear they will not work together on any issue.

Would you rather have the government let the businesses and banks fail?

Ford, GM, etc who are among the largest employers in not just the nation, but the entire world... And if the banks were allowed to fail it would cause a rush of withdraws (on money that doesn't exist) meaning the dollar becomes worthless because the money doesn't exist in reality it exist in capital for loans and the likes and the government bankrupts itself issuing the insurance claims from FDIC for all that lost money?

Just those two things happening the US would cause countless more businesses to fail (Loan from a bank? Business fails... Uses GM trucks? Business fails... Etc), unemployment wouldn't just be "bad" like it is now, more people would be unemployed than ever before in history, both by number and by percentage... It would cause worldwide economic depression...

Considering the world isn't a smoldering ruin at the moment, I think things are pretty swell...

What issue? The republicans are in cutting mode, they wont pass any "issues" to begin with. You cant make something work when there is nothing to work with.

Benefit of the many.

Pure utility... If an individual rots, an individual rots... If the private banking and industrial base of the entire world rots, the entire world rots.

Steps are being taken now to make it so that we never arrive at this situation again, but that wouldn't have mattered much if we were in a second great depression as opposed to where we are right now...

That is the whole point of the mandate... Right now there are people who CHOOSE not to have health insurance and still go to hospitals... Who pays for that when they (ie: their insurance they don't have) don't pay for it? The hospital pays for them because they are required by law to do so (can't refuse a patient because of inability to pay)... And when the hospital pays for it they want to make up that difference as they can't just give out free healthcare to everyone they are still a business they will fail if they do that... How do they make up this difference? They charge a higher premium to people who actually pay...

The whole point of the individual mandate is that if EVERYONE has health insurance, no one is free riding, the costs decline since the hospitals and thus other people aren't footing the bill for free loaders...

Of course no one believes this since the Republicans are doing everything in their power to prevent the law from functioning, which is funny because they do this at the same time as they claim Obamacare isn't working lol... "This door doesn't shut!" *has foot in the door*

Look outside. We are in a second great depression. Poverty is the highest it's been in the US in 50 years.

The only people who benefitted from all of this were the rich, banks and corporations. If we really have a free market, then banks and corporations should ahve been allowed to fail. If we're a socialist country, everyone should enjoy the benefits of socialism. Instead we have a plutocracy, where the rich are too big to fail, and everyone else gets crapped on. It's hypocrisy is what it is.

That is what the world financial community and US Government/EU Government are attempting to do... They imposing restrictions on what banks can and can't do and the likes now and made the entire process more transparent... But like I said, they wouldn't have had the chance to do that if the banking industry fell apart...

Short of a pre-election ***** up, its Obama's to win.

Though I suspect it will be allot closer this election.

Around here(northern ky/Cincinnati) most people were like "meh, I guess I dislike Obama", last election.

And now are ademently hateful of him with words I can't use here, for fear of mods.

Why are banks and corporations allowed to enjoy the benefits of socialism, while individuals are left to rot?

bigfoot2045

Benefit of the many.

Pure utility... If an individual rots, an individual rots... If the private banking and industrial base of the entire world rots, the entire world rots.

Steps are being taken now to make it so that we never arrive at this situation again, but that wouldn't have mattered much if we were in a second great depression as opposed to where we are right now...

9% unemplyment is hardly equivalent to a "great drepression"... And while I don't deny the other things you have said... Little can be done to change it...

So long as everyone (informed or not (mostly uninformed)) has an equal vote, politicians will play on the emotions of people to get a vote... And then once in office do what benefits their party rather than benfits the people they represent.

The unemployment is only so low because they're spin doctoring the numbers to get rid of people who have stopped looking for work. In many cases, companies have also run out of people to fire, so people are no longer filing for unemployment in large numbers.

obama- guy who been in house 4 years who has done nothing this nation needs because forcing people get health care. i don't like be forced to do crap. don't get me wrong the new health law as good things in it. p.s i do have health insurance.Other then that we are pretty much in the same spot as 4 years ago. same employment rate/ 5 trillion more in debt.

then you got

romney who's a religion nut....

k2theswiss

To be fair, Republicans are purposly making it difficult for the dems to get anything through congress. Obamacare was a huge fight, and while I'm opposed to it, you do realize that every developed countries and even some that aren't like China and India have nationalized healthcare right?

IF Romney doesn't release his tax returns for maybe 8 years.. He is going to lose by alot imo, even other Republican politicians are questioning him about it now.. Which is about time, you would think with the birth certificate obsession they woudl be all over this like white on rice..
