President Obama just recently gave a Presidential Address mainly about Syria's use of chemical weapons and our plans to respond to it.
What do you think about it?
This topic is locked from further discussion.
My question is why didn't Obama demand Syria surrender its chemical weapons two weeks ago instead of making threats? TruthTellersBecause that wasn't supposed to happen, Kerry made an off hand comment that was seize upon by the Russians. So we might get peace by accidental stupidity.
Also, why did he make the "Red line" statement in the first place?TruthTellersBecause he is a moron. No but really, because he was undisciplined and talked out his ass and now he is looking for any way to save his butt.
The sh1t started spewing out of his mouth almost as soon as he opened it.
"... what began as a series of peaceful protests against the oppressive regime of Bashar Al Assad ... "
The following would have been a more truthful introduction:
"... what began as another CIA-orchestrated regime-change operation ... "
I'm glad he's backing down with the attack option.
Christ knows I don't want gas pricing skyrocketing again like it did back during that disgrace of an Iraq war.
Obama policy. So once we destroy the chemical weapons, Assad can go back to killing everyone using conventional weapons? What kind of stupid ass shit is this?
JDWolfie
Well you can let the rebels control Syria whom have ties with the Saudis and they are the ones whom have being killing Christians. So once we destroy the chemical weapons, Assad can go back to killing everyone using conventional weapons? What kind of stupid ass shit is this?

I don't pretend to "have all the answers". :|
I rely on the writing of people who have the time and the inclination to conduct the necessary research and who present their conclusions in credible, well-substantiated documents.
In this case, the basis of my statement is the welter of irrefutable and/or readily-testable evidence presented in this essay.

Remember when we waited 2 years to even talk about directly intervening and when Obama seems to be trying to back out of intervention....oh yeah and the lack of weapons the US is supplying to the rebels.... But yeah it was all a CIA conspiracy...Ah its you again, you remind of someone on another forum. Playing the conspiracy card when someone tells you something you don't want to hear. A person like you 40 years ago, would've said the same when someone questioned if the Vietnam war was because of a falseflag operation. Cue many years later and you'll just say "Well they're all dead now so what does it matter". Have fun being a sheep that believes everything you're being told while hiding behind pictures.

The hope was that Assad could be toppled using Al Qaeda proxies alone. Seeking a pretext for intervention has become necessary because the Syrian national army has been trouncing the Washington-backed terrorists.
and when Obama seems to be trying to back out of intervention....
He's ostensibly backing out of intervention, for now, because he wasn't able to win either popular or international support with the August 21 false flag operation. Having invested so much in Syrian regime change already, and because overthrowing Assad is seen as a prerequisite for the upcoming war on Iran, Obama is unlikely to abandon intervention altogether. The next false flag operation is probably well under way already, although I admit that that's just speculation.

What lack is that? Military.com: US to Arm Syrian Rebels
But yeah it was all a CIA conspiracy...
That it is.

I should never ever be surprised at this sort of irony. I know intellectually that there will be this reversal of the poles on each new transfer of power. I should be MORE surprised in cases when it doesn't happen. Despite this, I do get taken aback from time to time, and this is one of those cases.
This isn't just the usual presidential chairs party game though, and that's probably what's causing me to take more than the usual passive notice. As someone pointed out to me this morning, we have 'Nobel Peace Prize' winning POTUS who wants to bomb some country for the presence of WMD, with Machiavellians like Vladimir Putin negotiating peace. This is BizarroWorld!
stopping obama is more important than any other issue to the majority in congress / putin. obama knows this. he secretly doesn't want to bomb anyone, so he pretends he does. as a result congress rises up to oppose it and so do the russians. result, no one gets bombed.I should never ever be surprised at this sort of irony. That is just weak reasoning. So basically Obama is so brilliant that he intended everything that has happened just like it has? The President has seemed weak, indecisive, incompetent and has spent precious political capital in something he never intended to do? You think to highly of him.[QUOTE="m0zart"]

The Al-Qaeda linked rebels didn't start coming in mass for a couple months-a year of the civil war..... If the entire govt was in on this plan they would attack regardless of public opinion, especially Obama he is already in his second term not like he has much to lose. Yes we said we will arm the rebels, now show me an article that shows we actually are sending them lots of weapons (hint you cant because we aren't)[QUOTE="comp_atkins"]stopping obama is more important than any other issue to the majority in congress / putin. obama knows this. he secretly doesn't want to bomb anyone, so he pretends he does. as a result congress rises up to oppose it and so do the russians. result, no one gets bombed.
