I just got new glasses today and I found out that I can't see anything close up and small! (I'm near sighted) I tried to read a wikipedia page but it was really hard. Can anyone tell me why this is? i just got the appointment yesterday and it's really annoying that it's extremely hard to go on the computer.

Perhaps you just need to get adjusted to the new prescription. Either that, or the prescriotion they gave you isn't correct.

No, you shouldn't have to and they can't make you pay if it's an error on their part... unless somehow they made you sign a contract and it says you have to in the fine print.

You should give them a couple days test run before you go back, maybe you just need to adjust.

You probably have a really strong prescription for distance. Some near-sighted people take off their glasses to read books, papers, surf the web, etc. I don't personally have to, but everyones eyes are different.

Yeah, you need a few days. Give it at least a week before you go back. Your doctor may say "I'd rather have you see clear far away for driving than close up." I've heard of that happening before. That's the problem with glasses, alot of the times they make them wrong. I'd like to see you get contacts personally. They are superior.
