Problems You've Had Growing up with overprotective parents.

Not to sound like some whiny teenager but I had a lot of problems. I was BRUTALIZED in middle school because i had no knowledge of the terms they were using. And I just grew up rebellious. Anyone else have problems?

In middle school. It seems everyone is. Except for the rare 1 out of 300.

My parents are pretty chill actually. I did get them a sample of hell in junior high and high school, but snapped out of it after graduation.:P

My parents are the opposite. I'm pretty positive I could get them to buy me a playboy if I asked them to the next time they go out.... I think I would prefer protective parents.SeraphimGoddess

Most people that have protective parents want non-protective and those who had Non-Protective seem to want Protective ... I was raised as a Christian so I had a Very over protective family and I would of loved to be raised by parents who didn't try to control every aspect of your life

Luckily when I turned 13 i was basically able to control them lol but still the 1st 13 I was trapped in a steel gated nightmare.

I have learnt from the knowledge of both my Mum and Dad about the civilised world. I dont care if they are protective, I respect and love them dearly.

My parents tried to be over-protective but I wouldn't let them. If they banned me from seeing someone I'd see them anyway. If they grounded me I'd just go out the window. If they threw my cigs away I'd just get more (this was back in the day when you could get cigs from a machine).

They threw all my D&D stuff away one day and I had replaced all of it by the time I went to bed (since everyone I knew had a lot of extra D&D stuff laying about).

Hell, they took my Nintendo away so I took all the fuses out of the fuse box and hid them until they gave it back.

I gave my parents hell, but now that I'm in my mid-30's my mom and I are best friends.

My mom is what you would call a "mixed bag."

Shes sometimes crazy and protective but other times, shes nice and friendly.

As for my dad well..I dunno haven't seen him in about a good two years.

I have a lot of freedom around the house. I guess you could say I am quite independent.

I didnt have overprotective parents, especially my dad. They were still protective of me obviously, but they let me have freedom.
