This is a brilliant video. It's hilarious the expression on these people's faces when they know the guy knows they have no authority.

Every time I watch these videos I feel the same...I sort of admire what they are trying to do, but still find the makers of the videos to be unbearably annoying.SaintLeonidas

Why?
Sooooo, drive the border patrol insane? :PSajo7Well technically these guys aren't border patrol but I'd definitely consider trolling them. :P
"Am I being detained" is like the most basic and important legal question you should ask any authority figure. If they say no you can just walk away and tell them not to waste your time.

They all sounded like white men though, I'd be curious how this would go down if the driver fit the border cops profile for an illegal immigrant.

Yeah it was telling no one wanted to answer that question.[QUOTE="SaintLeonidas"]Every time I watch these videos I feel the same...I sort of admire what they are trying to do, but still find the makers of the videos to be unbearably annoying.hartsickdiscipl

Would be far more effective if that dude didnt have a whiny voice. Had he a little more base in that voice, the border patrol would have been impressed and said, "on your way son".

I didn't see anyone being pompous. Â Even if you think that some of the drivers are, that's a very small issue in comparison to the bigger one that this video highlights. Â Get over it and respect what their actions stand for.Â
The checkpoints caused the problem.[QUOTE="Sajo7"][QUOTE="InEMplease"]
If you've got nothing to hide, you shouldn't cause problems.
The end.

Of course
The same way a firewall would cause a problem.
Heuristscs.
Waste of time.
Â
If they want a "firewall," it shouldn't be 50 or 100 miles inside the US. Â If immigration stopped me and asked me any questions, I'd ask them "Am I immigrating somewhere?"

Â
I don't see it as a waste. Â They have no right to set up checkpoints like these. Â If everyone just laid down like you suggest, we'd be in really bad shape. Â I think we already are, but it would be even worse. Â The fact is that a border patrol agent or cop who would participate in these "checkpoints" is a criminal, not the person in the car. Â

The reason I get annoyed is that the people doing this are clearly doing so just for video purposes as opposed to literally any other reason.

Â
This is where you are wrong. Â They are taking the videos so they can show people how to respond to these situations. Â They are also doing it because it's the right thing to do if you care about your constitutional rights and don't want to live in a police state. Â

I see I hit a nerve. Â Like most mindless, soulless minions of society, you turn to memes and catchy .gifs to try to regain some sort of footing when you have no point to make. Â

I belive they have the authority to create checkpoints. Now....
I never suggested everyone lay down.
You prove those who have been appointed to protect us are criminals.
After, tell me why anyone would have any reason to attempt to hide anything.
Â
You forgot the part about how our tax dollars pay for them to do this garbage. Â You also seem to have forgotten the part about how police need probable cause to detain specific persons for a reason. Â This is the equivalent of declaring martial law on the highway for an extended period of time because you know that "some people smuggle drugs or illegal immigrants in this general area." Â Obviously that's not legit. Â

Never read the constitution, never claimed to. Everything I have said is in text.
Â
Ok. Â Well, go read it. Â Take a look at the Federalist Papers too. Â
