the only reasons for that are 1: prior to the invasion, the UN placed sanctions on Iraq 2: the war of cource. If we pull out, it wont export any cuz of a civil warThe point is no one is reliant on that oil and if they were, they would not invade because that would just complicate everything. I can't think of a single instance in history where a country in civil war has been invaded solely to stabilize and ensure the continued exportation of any national resource and I can't imagine Iraq would turn into an instance of this.
