There's nothing special about Pulp Fiction, or any of Quentin Tarantino's film for that matter. sammyjenkis898
Pulp Fiction is one of the best movies of the 90's :? Same with Reservoir Dogs. I will admit though he takes a lot from his influences when he makes movies. Pulp Fiction is brilliant though.

Tarantino's an idiot. You'd have to be an idiot to make "Grindhouse"

Serraph105

yeah I never even finished that one because it was so bad. I am looking foward to his next film though.

You guys are probably too young to appreciate the genre those films are parodying. If you don't like, or have never seen, B-grade 70s car chase movies or 80s shoot em up sci fi movies, then I understand. The originals weren't great movies, but they had certain, unique characteristics that Tarantino was parodying and paying homage to. Making those films doesn't make Tarantino an idiot. He knew exactly what he was doing. When someone else creates something that you don't like or necessarily "get", that doesn't make the creator an idiot.

While I would not call Tarantino an idiot, and I have nothing against him, references and homages do not necessarily make clever film making. His movies have begun to follow a distinct formula. First you find a dead genre of fiction, then you parody/reference/make homages to it, possibly throw in some extreme violence, and populate them with many of the same actors playing characters who are more often than not just analogs for Tarantino to pump his witty one-liners through.

It's brilliant. The way the various plot threads are interwoven is genius. Not a fan of most of Tarantino's other stuff, but Pulp Fiction is amazing, and one of the best films ever made.

It's probably one of my favorite 3 movies...whenever I can't think of anything to watch I usually put Pulp Fiction in because it's always really entertaining.

Reservoir Dogs was plagiarized from a Hong Kong film made in 1987.

I like it a lot, but I find it to be a tad bit overrated. I love the dialogue though.
