Pure Rap vs Hip-Hop?

What if they are wrong? Have you ever considered that? Someone said Hip hop and Rap are the same genre, sorry kid, but the person who said that is uneducated. Because they don't know the difference. If you enjoy other people's opinions so much, why didn't you ask me about why I feel that way? Or why didn't you decide to attempt to prove me wrong? Your entire post there completely contradicts what you said.

I've never found a general consensus on the difference between rap and hip hop, but as far as I'm concerned the difference can be summarized pretty cleanly just like this:

"Bring Da Ruckus" by Wu-Tang Clan = Rap

"Candy Shop" by 50 Cent = Hip Hop

Again, though, I don't think there's some sort of scholarly and correct conclusion on this. Everyone has their own criteria for what defines hip hop or rap.
