It helps, but it doesn't get rid of it permanently. The best way to get tanned is to find an activity that keeps you in the sun for several hours a day, but if all you want is a burn then a few hours in the sun should do it.

I see no reason why that would work, if anything, it would exacerbate the problem. All your skin needs is a good 30 minute s in the sun.
