Have your family ever complain about you practicing? My mom would only tell me to stop playing if it's too late. And my brothers never complained that I was noisy. So I guess I'm quite lucky.

I'm an only child and I only live with my mother, and she never complains, all she cares about is that I practice.

I guess I'm lucky, too.

Only twice when I was playing guitar louder than usual, but that was because I was experimenting with different effects and things.

Nop, mine are quite tolerant as are my neighbors. And in return we're all tolerant of their guitar, piano and flute music.

No, my parents encourage it. It doesn't bother them in any way.

Once I lost track of time and ended up playing late into the night and my mom asked me to keep it down cause everyone was sleeping. I was like 2 in the morning though. Most of the time they don't care.

I was very fortunate in that I grew up in the country and could play as loud as I wanted and nobody was around to complain. Now that I live in the city... I have to basically play very quietly. :)

They would if I went on for too long. I'd just go practice outside if they did.

Yep. Dad doesn't like me playing drums. He's always working in the downstairs office. Oh well, I'll move out soon enough

Why don't you get an electric set. And you should had banged away at the drums whenever someone went to view the house. :P

My family doesn't really complain about it. Sometimes they tell me I was kinda loud after I'm done playing. I play piano and guitar, and the piano is digital so I can use headphones. If I really needed to, I could use a portable guitar amp which allows headphones too.

I cant afford an electric set haha and I've spent too much already on my accoustic set to go and silence them haha. it's wierd it's been so long since the house has had people live in it, we didnt expect anyone to rent it out haha.

I've never had any complaints, unless they're watching a movie or listening to music, which is understandable. I mostly play when I get back from college, while I'm alone. It's not really because I don't want to annoy them so much as I don't want them to annoy me

When your guitar heroes are Thurston Moore, Lee Ranaldo and Michael Gira, things can get... noisy :P

Yes. Not only because of the noise but also I forgot about my school and stick with my bandmates. Well, it's not my mom but my uncle and her wife.

My father is a musician and the other side of my family generally respects musical things. So no problems with me.

Nope, never. They don't even complain if I practice too late at night...unless I'm being particularly loud, especially on the piano.

Only at night, but then I have headphones for my keyboard. I'm sure they would allow me to play into the early hours of the morning if I were belting out Chopin ballades though.

My room is far from theirs so usually not. I used to get complaints when I was an amateur and played too loudly. Now I actually get compliments.

If my dad ever complained about the noise he'd be a hypocrite. And my mom's probably used to it by now. So no, they don't complain.

When I went through my drums phase it was an issue. Now I live alone so if I feel like cranking it my neighbors can suck it up

They usually just tell me to shut my door, although I've gotten into the habbit of playing only accoustic when anyone else is home.
