Anyone else here read the book? Or seen the film? I love both, Hunter S. Thompson was an amazing writer. The movie was great, Terry Gilliam really did an awesome job directing.
Oh, and I can't believe I haven't posted here in so long O_o

Haven't read the book. I'm tied up with AP literature classes, but I plan to catch up on more recent books after my class ends.
I'm a fan of the movie.
A friend of mine just recently told me to check out the film. Why do you guys like it so much?HillyBillyIt's brilliant, visually wonderful nonsense. They say it doesn't quite capture the satire of the book, and they're probably right, but I'm in love with watching Johnny Depp and Benicio Del Toro get hopped up on drugs and go nuts. Plus, you've got wacky cameos from Toby Maguire, Vern Troyer, and Cameron Diaz that just confuse things even more. It's a love-it or hate-it affair, though, so be wary.
A friend of mine just recently told me to check out the film. Why do you guys like it so much?HillyBillyIt's got some really great acting (Johnny Depp, Benicio Del Toro) and a really good script. You kind of have to watch it for yourself to realize why it's so great.

lsd is not a hard drug. it's a common misconception.

Yeah, but Tisch kids experiment like no other--correct me if I'm wrong (although I doubt it). BU kids chicken out to anything 'harder' than shrooms :P

i would say that nyu students and students in new york city, in general are all dope fiends. i would guess that about half of nyu, new school, and columbia students are reefer addicts and that a good amount are cocaine users. i would say that tisch or maybe gallatin has the highest concentration of psychedelic drug users at nyu. however i feel like people at "hippie" schools do much more hallucinogens than people who go to school anywhere in new york city.
