Indeed...
It's not as good an excuse because if Satan tells you to do something it's expected to be bad. God makes a better excuse because he's good and you don't question what he tells you.Funny thing is no one ever says "Satan told me to do it" which would make more sense

No, man, he wouldn't want to sound crazy now would he? :P That's probably the best because he would have to do it, I dunno why he didn't go with that.Funny thing is no one ever says "Satan told me to do it" which would make more sense

I remember some story about how a man thought his dog was possessed by the devil and told him to kill people... Or was it some movie I saw...? Anyways, it doesn't really sound "better"...

True.Wow. A story of sex abuse and pedophilia within the church. Who woulda thunk it.

"If convicted, Alamo faces 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine on each count." It doesn't make a difference in this specific case since he is 74 years old already so he won't live to be freed from jail if he is convicted of these charges, but it is horrendous that raping an 8 year old could result in anything other than a lifetime sentence.
that was David Berkowitz, and it was his neighbor's dog, but that did really happen somehowI remember some story about how a man thought his dog was possessed by the devil and told him to kill people... Or was it some movie I saw...? Anyways, it doesn't really sound "better"...

This "pastor" is a piece of worthless, human ****.
Not worthy of belonging to any religious group, organized or not.
[QUOTE="Bigg_Boi"]Well TBH history in general has given them a bad name.People like that sicken me to the core. They give Christianity and all organized religions a bad name.
Birdy09
TBH history has also given religion a good name. The problem is you typically wouldn't here about such things on the History channel or the News. The story in this post I would say is typical of the news you would normally here about. However, many good things come from religion as well.
You know, we're not all a bunch of inbred lunkheads who marry our sisters; most of us marry our cousins... There's a difference.LMFAO...no surprise this article is from Arkansas...

I'm not reporting anything, but that comment can totally be seen as trolling in a topic like this.
This is just pathetic. No one should use "God told me to" as an excuse for anything bad.

How is it considered trolling? There's no intent to troll there -- if you find it offensive somehow, sorry, it's just reality. Saying "This is just pathetic" could be seen as trolling. Making comments that are derogatory is totally trolling.[QUOTE="bsman00"]It's not as good an excuse because if Satan tells you to do something it's expected to be bad. God makes a better excuse because he's good and you don't question what he tells you. But Satan is really good a decieving people. He is the father of lies, and can fool anyone, so technically, there should be no shame in being fooled by the lord of evil.Funny thing is no one ever says "Satan told me to do it" which would make more sense

This guy is messed up on so many levels it's almost incomprehensible. He gets caught after commiting numerous horrible crimes, and what does he do? He blames it on a Vatican conspiracy. A man who is not only a total control freak, but incapable of admiting blame or wrongdoing, and who probably DOES believe that God has given him a special mandate to abuse people and law to his heart's content.
He's not the only one, of course. It's a sad irony that people who lust after power are more likely to acquire it, yet such people are very often the last sort of person who you'd want leading anybody. The rampant corruption in the high end of just about any organization with real influence you can think of - and the brutality of many nations' leaders, both past and present - is no accident.
Agreed.People like that sicken me to the core. They give Christianity and all organized religions a bad name.
