[QUOTE="Person0"][QUOTE="Jimn_tonic"]

Anyone read his oped in the nytimes?

you know america's gov't is in real deep when an ironfist propagandist like putin makes more sense

Jimn_tonic

Lol the guy that says it might have been the rebels makes sense... really?

k obviously his love affair with the Syrian gov't is BS, but he makes good points about international law.

He hit the nail on the head as to why mid-east countries seek chemical weapons and WMD's in the first place; because the west could disobey international law and invade them, regardless if they have the weapons.

Chemical weapons wouldn't really stop the west only nukes, we went against Saddam in 91 and he had chemical weapons. Putins whole Oped is pretty much a checklist of things to say for Americans to oppose a strike. You got the pope, terrorists, Al Qaeda, Iraq, afghanistan, Libya ...etc He just wants the war to drag on so he can keep selling weapons and keep tartus.

[QUOTE="BossPerson"]having the back of your mass murdering tyrannical friend is now worthy of a peace prize.....Stesilaus

Only the most gullible of propaganda-befuddled proles believe that "mass murdering tyrant" drivel.

Bashar is waging a just war to defend his country and his people from foreign insurgents and local traitors.

The farcical "democratic protests" were arranged by stooges who were financed through the US State Department.  The protester-shootings that supposedly triggered the armed revolution were probably carried out by foreign agents (CIA, Mossad and/or Prince Bandar bin Sultan's heavies), but, really, even if the Syrian Army had shot the "protesters", it would have been justifiable for them to do so.

The so-called "Syrian civil war" is really nothing of the sort: It's an aggressive, unprovoked invasion conducted mainly by mercenaries that Washington is arming and supporting through regional vassals like Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

As for Putin: He has emerged as the true statesman of the modern era.  If we have "peace in our time", it will be thanks to Putin.  If not, it will be because he was thwarted by the militaristic machinations of hegemonic warmongers.

This, well said i couldnt have put it better myself.

Yeah the report stopped short of saying the Syrian army did the attacks as they were legally prohibited from assigning blame.

Well people are saying that the scenes were purposely tampered with to show the trajectories and 'frame' the regime.  That's the story they're sticking to.

I've presented plenty of evidence to support those "opinions".

Here again is Tony Cartalucci's superb historical overview of the genesis of the Syrian conflict and the foreign interests that have been behind it right from the beginning.  The essay links to all the sources that it cites and represents impeccable investigative journalism of the sort that's wholly absent from most mainstream media outlets.

He's our resident village idiot. I wouldn't pay him any mind. I wonder if we should ask the Chechnyans and Georgians if he deserves it though.

HoolaHoopMan

Georgia is the end result of another of Washington's "color revolutions".  President Mikheil Saakashvili is a NATO puppet through and through.  It was he who initiated the 2008 "August War" by wantonly attacking South Ossetia so, yes, Georgia certainly deserved the drubbing that Russia meted out.  Russia had a "responsibility to protect" South Ossetia.

As for the Chechen terrorists: They're backed by US/neocon interests, a nasty fact that casts atrocities like the Beslan School Massacre in a whole new light: A little over nine years ago, 186 Russian schoolchildren were among 334 hostages who were bombed, burned and shot to death by CIA-backed terrorists from the Caucasus.

Yes yes, I'm sure all the terrorist attacks in Russia were orchestrated by the CIA. Do you have any other lines of thought or is everything a product of the CIA? Your whole mentality is getting a bit old.

If you knew my posting history you'd see how incorrect that statement really is. I've readily admitted to the short comings of the US and I find blind nationalism (well nationalism in general) to be quite ignorant. I've repeatedly stated I don't support intervention in Syria and I've always been an opponent of the US intervention in Iraq. You just take bullshit to a whole new level. Unless of course you're trolololling the hell out of OT lately.

It's a "portal site" that republishes essays from other sites with permission from the original authors.  Those authors are drawn from both ends of the political spectrum and include exceptionally intelligent and mature writers who rigorously research and substantiate their claims.

You're the one who's behaving like a 12-year-old by dismissing the site content out-of-hand!

It's sad to see the truth of peacemakers held to ridicule while the lies of warmongers are extolled.

[QUOTE="HoolaHoopMan"] That site looks like it was put together by a 12 year old. Written by one as well. HoolaHoopMan

Yes yes, I've heard this rhetoric from you before. You stick with Putin and Assad, the true peace makers of the 21st century.
