Not exactly, discrimination or prejudice based on race also constitues racism.
My opinion: this was probably done with good intentions but was horribly misguided and ultimately comes across as incredibly patronising. Also, celebrating African-American culture was probably not McDonalds real goal, they obviously had some other incentive.

When private companies advertise/promotes based SOLEY on race (as does that website) that is an act of racism, especially when they do not counter balance with websites which advertise/promotes the other races. A classic sign of liberal guilt.

And by posting a website you are accusing them of discrimination? I've seen all races work in McDonald's so they don't discriminate. Prejudice can't be legislated against in and of itself. It appears as a way for them to reach out to a specific community. Not a big deal. Racism is misused too much....Racism is the belief that one's race is superior and other races inferior. So now you say all advertisements that McDonald's makes show ONLY one race? That is false.....they want to appeal to everyone. More profit.:roll:Which dictionary did you use because I got this....
Racism is the belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race.

The fact they are promoting a "race" via their "black success stories" can be taken as racist since they are not including other races. They are not stating the race is "better" but they still separate and prmote them from others, that is a racist slant. People who claim that "they celebarate blacks so that means they're not racist" are very misguided, the fact that they celebrate ANY person just because of their color is a racist act in itself. The fact they are promoting a "race" via their "black success stories" can be taken as racist since they are not including other races. Targeting a race for demographic advertising purposes is fine in my opinion, but celebrating a race (like that website) is wrong and racist. So, would it be wrong if someone viewed the McDonalds website as "targeting a race for demographic advertising purposes" instead of "celebrating a race?"

Exactly. As a graphic designer, I know about targeting groups. This site is racist, pure and simple. It is PC gone overboard.[QUOTE="ownage_denied"]

Simply I think that black people want to show everyone that there shouldn't be racism. There are some magazines and other things that somehow may insult black people, so they made their own.
