http://stereogum.com/archives/radiohead-wall-of-ice-ep-out-monday-_084481.htmlI hope it's true. What do you guys think? Apparently the band isn't interested in releasing LPs any time in the future and want to stick to an EP and single format. Whatever, as long as they continue putting out great music I'll buy it.

Radiohead is pretty much THE definition of sellout.

Going from a marketable, alternative rock sound to an electronic fused, ambient acoustic rock sound?

Their music has gotten considerably worse.

Pablo Honey was decent, and then OK Computer was outstanding, and then Kid A was meh, and then Amnesiac was just ick.

They are progressively getting worse.

Sigur Ros is so much better.

Sigur Ros makes completely different music In your opinion their albums have gotten worse, but according to most people and critics their albums are still top notch. Even if their albums have gotten worse, they haven't become more radio-friendly in any way

So they're sellouts because you don't like them? They're music has been getting more mature if anything. When Kid A came out in 2000, there was nothing quite like it. I remember the Pitchfork reviewer saying that comparing Kid A to anything else is like comparing an aquarium to blue wallpaper. Hell, there wasn't really even a radio single off of the album. Who are they selling out to exactly?

I'd say they're getting better. In Rainbows is one of their best albums. Also, how could you say Kid A sucks and support Sigur Ros? Whenever I listen to Sigur Ros it kinda makes me want to listen to Kid A.

*edit*Kid A is one of the best albums I've ever heard.**

Being nonradio-friendly doesn't equal better.

The connotation of "sell out" is "increased popularity and worse material". This is not the case. I'm not claiming being non-mainstream makes music better.

Fine, not sellout, just loss of skill and talent.

No, but it's the opposite of selling out.

Selling out means a band panders to the tastes of the general public in order to sell more records. Radiohead have been doing the opposite of that since OK Computer.

Just because you don't like them, doesn't mean they've sold out.
