Rage Virus Outbreak

Imagine that Dayton, Ohio is infected with the Rage virus (from 28 days later). For those of you who don't know, Dayton is a small city, the smallest a city can be and still be a city. Anyway, it's infected and you can either try to lock down the city or firebomb the entire city. I guess there's always hope for a cure, so keep that in mind as well. What do you do??

That's what I'd do. Although I think Nukes would be a bad idea; what if somehow the virus mutates? Conventional weapons like firebombs and gas bombs should work. I would probably freak out and kill myself later; putting all those people to death is a horrible proposition.

Ohh and drop some very effective nervegas in the area followed by mustard gas. Then another napalm strike. Now knowing that there may be surviviors in the sewers... I would flood the sewers with gas then light it up.vito_128

But it is very through though. Guaranteed extermination. Now to be safe I would also bombard it with fuel air bombs...

Nuke 'em. You know if you locked it down, some little cockroach or bird would get infected then spread it to other cities, the people wouldn't know what the bird was all about so they'd get the virus, then they'd infect others and so on and so forth until the entire world was infected. Now this could have all been prevented if only that tiny little city was just bombed to begin with.

That, but if worst comes to worst (as it did in the film), MOABs, chemical weapons, etc. but not a nuke because of the whole radiation thing. No ground forces so there's no risk of losing anyone

The thing about Rage is how FAST it spreads. It gets released anywhere in the USA, the entire country is pretty much ****ed. It has an incubation period of about 5 seconds. While this does help the irus from crossing seas, it renders the country in which the outbreak started totally and completely ****ed. Keep in mind that when the first outbreak starts, no one has any idea WTH it is. Een if the outbreak starts in a tiny hillbilly town, you're talking about thousands of people being infected before the goernment has any idea there's een a problem. By the time they realize what's going on, you're talking about major cities being infected (imagine this breaking out in NYC). And een if you nuke eery city in which the infected appear, you're still gonna hae all the wanderers BETWEEN cities. You nuke eery city in the hopes of soling the problem, then the ery next day you'e got outbreaks in about 20 outlying cities. And by this point you'e passed the point of no return. By now it's IMPOSSIBLE to kill them all.

The bright side...at least the outbreak won't spread oerseas. Because with a 5 second incubation period, it's hard for ships to get far before the captains know that there are infected persons onboard. Commercial airline trael is still safe. Just wait 5 seconds before starting up your engines. If none of the passengers start eating each other within fie seconds of boarding the plane, you're safe to take off. If they do start eating each other, then just don't take off. And een if you do take off, chances are that they'll eat the pilot before the plane reaches its destination, thereby causing the plane to crash and killing all the infected on the plane.

I once started reading a book called World War Z. It was about a worldwide zombie outbreak. Anyway, some dude tried that exact same thing. But his rotors hit a car (which the pilot couldn't see because of the massie zombie swarm, and the helicopter crashed into a crowd of zombies only to hae them pull him out of the cockpit and rip out his intestines.
