Rape and prison sentences

I support the death penalty for very serious crimes, but individuals never have the right to say who deserves life and who doesn't. Killing a rapist for what is essentialy revenge, doesn't make the situation better for anyone. Two wrongs do not make a right.

Punishing someone for a crime isn't just about revenge. It's also about using the punishment as an example and a deterrent. If the punishment is severe enough, people are less likely to commit the crime.

You'd have to be very careful when handing out life sentances and castrations for rape, simply because there will always be the women who cry rape when they don't want to admit they had consentual sex, for whatever reason. Not trying to play down the seriousness of rape, but it has always, in history, been the thing that women get away with falsely accusing men of rape.

However, child rape is inexcusable. Life sentance, definately.

Adult rape, maximum 50 years, minimum 5-10. What's the jury for if not to judge what the seriousness of the crime is?

Punishing someone for a crime isn't necessarily about revenge, but torturing a rapist is. I'm skeptical about the whole deterrent thing. I've read articles that say that even the death penalty doesn't deter people. But even if it did, that doesn't give you the right to torture people. We're supposed to be living in civilized societies, not totalitarian regimes.

For adult rape, life in prison.

For child rape, rip off his penis and feet it to him with a straw, then have about 40 inmates rape him one by one, one right after the other, in front of a crowd. Then cut his wrists and make him suffer for the last few minutes he has on Earth.

In all seriousness though, rape is one of the most horrible crimes someone can commit. My first response came out of anger. I know someone who was raped. Being raped completely changed that person. The criminal hasn't been caught, and the victim lives in fear.

Rape should be punished with castration.

1st offence: 25 years minimum

2nd offence: life in prison and castration

You can ay its cruel, but i have little patience for criminals. Especially rapist and murderers

Child Rape - In for life.

If the rapist is under 18, 10 years. If the rapee is under 18, 30 years, regardless of age.
