4/10 I like a couple of their songs, but for the most part I can't stand Kurt Cobain's singing and I think they get way to much credit for how average of a band they were to me.
Back in the day i would have maybe said that i liked them. From time to time when i hear them on the radio i really cant get over how genuinely bad they are. Classic example of being in the right place and doing the right thing at the right time. Totally forgettable in every sense of the word.
9/10. Brilliant band that improved with each album. One thing I've learned, 16 years after Kurt's death, is you kinda needed to be a teen/young adult to truly understand what Nirvana meant when they came out (which is totally a different thing from liking/loving their music now). Being 17 or so when Nevermind was released (I was camping with friends, no internet everywhere back then and I came home and my GF at the time had recorded MTV basically for 3 days so I could watch all the coverage, I was numb for god knows how long), it was a complete changing in music. The entire landscape of music changed within 6 months. 16 years later, I realize that doesn't happen that often, and I'm grateful I was there for Nirvana's entire "run". As I said they improved with each album, and there's no telling how good Nirvana could have been had Kurt lived and kept making music.
I think they're a good band, but I also think they're overrated. There were a lot of good bands from the grunge era, but it seems like Nirvana gets a majority of the praise.

7/10. Mainstream grunge that isn't like Seattle Sound from the earlier period, great sound, mediocre talent. Definitely one of the worst grunge bands out there, though given how good they are, that says something for the genre.
Maybe not the most talented band, but they did usher in a new era of music which died when Cobain commited suicide. With that in mind, I'd agree with your 11/10.
11/10. In my top 3 bands of all time. Their music I think will easily hold up just as well for the next 50 years. Even though Emo tried to blow up like Grunge did in the 90's, it failed and sputtered out within about 2 years.

Well i respect your opinion but imo it's complete BS. Nirvana is def top 10 Rock bands of all time wether you like it or not. Srsly show me another Band which puts as much as energy in a live concert

I think there a good band that wrote tons of great songs. Their style does not appeal to everyone and you have to listen to their non mainstream stuff in order to really know them, because they have a lot of that stuff. 8/10
