Please enlighten me on what is wrong with LOST?Ultrabeatdown55

Nothing, he was mistaken, he was supposed to write 'House'... I'm going to get bashed for that.

House is great too...

Is it really, I've never really watched it, I'm more of a '24', 'Prison Break' and 'The Shield' kind of guy, although I do watch, 'The Wire', 'Heroes' and 'Lost' as well as more, I've just never seen the appeal in 'House'.

At one point LOST was getting really bad ( I think it was at about mid-season 2). The show was pointless and really wasn't going anywhere. New mysteries would be revealed and old ones were left unsolved. If it wasn't for my sister nagging me to catch up, I would have given up a long time ago. Thankfully I didn't because the show got right back on track and is now stellar and it's actually going places with its plot.

As for House, the show is way past it's prime. The House formula was amusing for the first 3 season but now it's just boring. Have a weird unexplained problem, try different diagnosis and medication only to have them fail, then have House have an epiphany after another character makes an unrelated comment, then House saves the day! It's like that for 90% of the episodes, that's just lazy writing. You go into every episode with a 90% chance of knowing what's going to happen. Sure once every 100 episodes a patient, dies, but its so rare its negligible.

Then comes the characters. All the other characters, except for House are boring. I don't care about Chase, Cameron's or Foreman's problems because they are boring unrealistic characters. The way the respond to situations is not human. You can tell they are crafted characters, they don't feel real, they don't react like real people would. It's like they got someone autistic to write the characters, because he obviously doesn't know the first thing about human interaction. House gets a pass because he is supposed to be out there, but still, his story is no progressing. Him and Cuddy should have hooked up a long time ago, because their sexual tension is no longer amusing, its just irritating now. Either get them together or make it so they can't be together ever due to one of them getting married or something. Sexual tension that lasts too long is just poor writing and more annoying than amusing.

So basically the whole Show tries to survive on one character who actually has nothing happening in his life, and the medical drama has gotten so formulaic that having someone just give you a 1 minute recap of the episode is all you need and you can fill in all the blanks by yourself. They need to either get out of their safe zone and take a risk, or just end the show.

Season 1 is. After that though, its actually quite painful to watch. There are the select few who still enjoy it, but the majority of people agree that it's quite painful to watch nowadays. The stories seem to have no direction, and the placement of episodes is so erratic. You could have a big issue appear with a certain character and you wont see that character again for another 6 episodes. The main cast is just too big. Normally this isnt a problem if they all have the same or similar goals or the writers are superb (like LOST), unfortunately for Heroes, they have neither.

I love all of those shows except The Shield. Lets just say its the only medical show that I watch.

Time travel is too OP and should be severely regulated. And it leaves the door open for many inconsistencies and paradoxes.II_Seraphim_II

Indeed. It also lead to the whole Caitlin incident, which to me is the third most maddeningly unresolved TV Plotline of all time (right behind Shepard Book's Alliance ties in Firefly and the entire Space: Above and Beyond series).

I can not stand this show, don't get me wrong the writing is great, but seriously
Does everything really need to be that interconnected? And I find the extremely over used cliffhanger somewhat annoying
I loved Elle......too bad sylar killed her, ive always enjoyed Claire's dad plots in the past, it may very well be one of the reasons i liked season 2 better, he was more active, that season was focused on 'The company' there was a lot more conflict in it between 'teh heroes'

I'm not sure if im liking the fact that they're turning Claire into a lesbian......but we'll see, i like the new character though his name escapes me at the moment, but the circus dude lol.

And if Hiro brings Charlie back FTW, i loved her too

Jesus man, spoiler alert?

The first season was fantastic. The second and third were the complete opposite. The fourth has been decent, thus far. I quite like the newest character. Samuel, I believe.

Season 3 of what? I'm up to date with all the shows I watch, and yes, House got worse when he lost his original 3, and even now that their back, its still not quite as interesting.

I've been watching heroes for a while now and it just seems that it went downhill ever since the end of the first season. The first season was fast paced and you always had to pay attention which was what kept me watching. Then the second season just moved far too slowly and then the third season moved far too fast for any decent plot or emotions to form and now the fourth season is just as disappointing as the last 2. I still like the show a lot but at the most i'd give it a 7 and a half.

They really need to hire good writers. Poach them from different shows if thats what it takes. The story lines need to be tighter and have more focus. Season 1 knew where it was going, and the viewer got the impression that it was all planned out and the pacing was excellent. But season 2+ has been a mess.

One of my favourite shows, once was my favourite. Avatar and DBZ beat it by miles.

it's lacking in quality these past few seasons, with a few spectacular episodes here and there (Cold Snap, for instance). Since this is the last season i'll be watching it till the end.
