Real life you vs Internet you

Some people you encounter on the internet aren't the nicest of people (insert captain obvious image). Sometimes you'll see a perfectly reasonable thread, or a fairly straight-forward topic, yet there'll always be that poster who replies with a hostile little quip, or a comment drenched in sarcasm and pretentiousness.

Other times posters are really immature. They'll make jokes about really tragic events. Or they'll post just to get a rise out of people.

And i cant help but wonder; what are people like in real life who post like this? :P If i encounter a really sarcastic, demeaning, intellectually-superior sort of post for example, i'll immediately picture somebody with no social life, no real friends, with a huge sense of insecurity about them. If someone is blatantly trolling, i nearly always picture a child or a young teenager.

What about you guys? Is real life you a reflection of internet you, or rather do you adopt a persona when on the internet? Some people are very shy in real life, but quite outgoing when interacting with others on the interwebs.

im pretty much the same in real life and on internet. im quiet in real life and i lurk alot on GS. i say the same things online that i would say in real life. really no difference between the online me and the real me.

Online - bit of an idiot, arrogant and annoying sometimes.
Real Me - a kind person, very helpful and thoughtful, I'm not shy on internet forums or in the real world.

I tend to be wary of posting my real feelings on these as they can come round and back you.

I admit I sound arrogant on forums because I post putting in mind the background and mentality of users in videogames messege boards. I don't expect much from the majority of users. That's my opinion. Some moderators here consider me an attention seeker. That's wrong, I just like to voice my opinion and my posts happen to be vocal.

In reality, I'm extremely nice and I don't argue that much because I live in a perfectionist society and we all share the same ideals and views.

As most people would be, I'm more outgoing on the internet. In real life I come off as a real **** at first.

I'm pretty much myself. I say whats on my mind, I'm horny and I laugh at pretty much anything :lol:

I'm much nicer on the Internet than the my real life.

Parents always make me angry (mostly my step dad) and always calling me stupid. They also never let me finish talk and I'm like never there.

I'm more social in real life.

If internet me and real me had a fight, real me would win by a landslide. It wouldn't even be a fair fight

Only difference is that I'm much more open and sometimes make internet jokes when I'm the internet me.

I'm actually pretty much the same in real life as I am in the Internet. Well, except for the fact that I am more sarcastic in real life because it's easier to express it and it's more noticeable.

when I picture most of the users here their just fat kids that sit in front of teh compyter playing warcraft all day
