I love Target. But the new Gaming area is just ok. Wal-Mart is much better. You go to look at a Game at Target now and you have this Black wire to deal with now. Not good.

I love target too, but I always thought their gaming selection was meager at best. Now you say there is a black wire around games? It already was loosing luster with their bad selection.....now....

When you want to look at a game now at target there is a wire at the bottom of the game on the shelf.

Retailers put them on electronics that are high-theft and not locked in cases. They will set off the alarms at the door, and they have a chip in them that will beep really freaking loud if you cut one of the wires to try and steal the product.

Yeah, they put them on pharmacy stuff too sometimes.

Why do they have that stuff around their games? I thought most stores put empty cases on the shelves and put discs in at the counter.

Why is Walmart better? They have their games locked behind glass.

Retail markets like Wal-Mart of Meijer or Target don't do that, because they're too afraid of internal theft.

The new game section at Target is great. You should be glad that there is a black wire now. With the old way they use to have them, you couldn't even view the back of the boxes unless you were in the bargain bin.

Actually a lot of Wal-Marts are starting to do away with locking their games behind glass; the Wal-Mart by me doesn't do that anymore.

No no no no no no no no. The video games aren't in spider-wrap, They remodeled their gaming section so that there's a single live copy of a game in a plastic keeper that is chained to its display area by a retractable wire leash. But while it's nice that they thought customers would like to see and touch a video game box instead of just staring at it through a locked glass case, from what I've seen there's no readily available understock for the employee to grab a sell copy or quickly replace the keepered games. Because of this there's usually a decent chunk of gaming displays with no games in the displays because the employees don't have time to constantly replace them thus negating what I assume was the original intent of this program.

Way to think things through Target advertising team.

Er...okay, now I know what you're talking about - and yes, that sounds like a bad idea. Wal-Mart's idea of having them in individual cases with alarms was a much better idea.

So they just have one game out there for sale, and don't replace it when it's sold? What.

I don't think I ever bought a game at target, so no big deal. I still like buying my clothes from there. They look nice and prices are cheap.

Behind those copies they have linked to the shelf, is a stack of the same game. You just have to tell the clerk that you want to buy the game and they come get one for you. I personally think it's loads better. You can look at the back of the box and stuff easily.

Well the Target nearest me did not have any of those replacement stacks so about 1/3 of the displays were empty as the employees were merely taking the display copy and didn't have the time to go in the back to retrieve a replacement copy. Perhaps they set it up wrong or perhaps the place where you went set it up better.
