The Cardigans.

They had a hit in the nineties - "Lovefool" on the album First Band on the Moon - and then sort of drifted off the charts in the United States. The thing is, the album directly prior to that - Life - is absolutely tremendous. There isn't a track on it I don't love. It's happy, fun, pop music, but it's also got some beautifully measured pieces that prove their talent.
