For those who are of drinking age, recommend a non-usual, non cheap macro lager/cheap domestic beer to your fellow beer drinkers.

These are my two favorite beers when I don't plan on drinking a lot; drinking for the sake of drinking, not just to get wasted.

Young's Double Chocolate Stout

and

Propeller London **** Porter

I'm not sure if you can find the Propeller outside of Eastern Canada; the brewery is in Halifax. If you can find a bottle I highly recommend it.

I'm not really a beer expert. I just drink Corona, Stella Artois or Heinekin if I want a good tasting beer (ice cold of course) and Lakeport if I just want to get smashed because its 24 for 24 in Ontario.

But that probably didn't help you at all. Any good beer you can recommend to me lol

I've only drank normal beers(Ie. bud, bud light, corona, heineken, miller, Coors, etc)

I really would like to try a 20 proof beer though...

I'm no beer expert either.. if I plan a night on the town usually I'll go to the LC and get a 12 pack of something cheap, Keiths or Molson or something, and then buy one or two singles from the import or micro brewery section.. slowly but surely I'm building up my taste. I found recently found a new love for Stout and Porter.

San Miguel is a sweet beer imo.

But usually I'll just opt for pints of Miller when I'm out.

Anyway, you could go with Flat Tire Amber Ale, good cheap stuff.

I stick to the Coor's Light most nights, it's the only light beer I can stand to drink. I also really like two beers called Devil's Milk & Bad Moon Porter, but I'm not sure you can get them outside of Maryland.. anyone in Maryland should go to DuClaw and get one of them, you will be happy. :)

Other beers I like are Sea Dog and

is very delicious

If you want a nice wheat beer after a long day at work, try Hoegaarden (sp?), it's possibly the best beer in the world; extremely expensive though.

:)

EDIT: This is rated as one of the top "summer" beers to drink when you have nothing to do but sit outside with a nice cold one.

For summer i strongly reccommend everyone to try Wheat beer, either from Germany or Belgium.

"Wheat beer is distinguished by its creamy texture and sweet flavour, and some styles have overtones of banana and clove. Pouring wheat beer into the glass requires a bit of practice, as one has to avoid producing too much head. The two techniques are illustrated here, performed by industrial robots programmed by students of two Bavarian universities: This robot demonstrates the technique of holding the opening of the bottle close to the rim of the glass, while this robot uses the faster immersion technique preferred by bartenders. Note the swivelling of the nearly empty bottle: This serves to pick up the yeast, an important part to unfiltered beer's complete taste. (It should be noted that the outside of the bottle should never come into contact with either the glass or the beer in the glass, as is may be contaminated with dirt, exhaust fumes etc.)"

It is expensive, but trust me, there's nothing else like it.

It's especially good during those long, hot summer days.

If we are talking strictly about quality, paying no heed to availiability, then Cornish Buccaneer and anything from Otter or Badger breweries (all in southwest england. I wouldn't recommend even trying to find them). There is nothing like being in an old-fashioned country pub with a pint of Otter.

I had it once and it wasn't that bad.. I mainly got it because it's cheap and high alcohol content (higher than 8% I beleive), seeing as I've been buying individual expensive bottles I need something to get the night rolling. Plus it's a hell of a lot better than Colt 45.

ah, then you should have said "lack of self control is bad for you".

Once again, people blame everything but themselves. Sorry for being hostile but alcohol is sacred to me and, pretty soon, making beer will be my career. So i kind of take generalizations such as "alcohol is bad for you" a little personally.
