Brutal as in really depressing, or brutal as in metal? If you just want depressing music, Conor Oberst will fill that. His songs are either really sad, or really touching.

Haha, Fort Minor is amazing. Mike Shinoda is actually a good rapper with meaningful lyrics. It's a scary idea but he's amazing. As for your search for a brutally depressing song I'll reccommend you to Atreyu. Amazing band. As for a song in particular I'd say 'Ex's and Oh's' or 'Lose it'. There are tons of others but those are the two I think would best suit you. Plus they're not the heavy ones in case your not into that screamo stuff like me. I'm such a disturbed child. :'(
i think "arms of an angel" by sara mc lachlin is probably the most depressing song i've ever heard (and this is in comparison to pretty much every heavy metal band out there)
Since you seem to be into a lot of gothic metal, which is a fairly recent fusion of doom metal and the more depressing aspects of gothic rock, I'd suggest looking into that. Maybe some DSBM as well...
Easily the most depressing song I can think of. You might not find it to be so but it just a perfect audio representation of the feelings of hopelessness about the world we live in that I have. I find the song so overwhelmingly resonates with those feelings that I generally avoid listening to it. Hence me recommending it as a "brutally" depressing song. Hope it suits your needs.
The song I immediately thought of was that one by Immortal Technique about the girl who dies of AIDS from a blood transfusion. Can't remember the name. Dance with the Devil is a great song but I personally wouldn't call it depressing, though it does have a big impact...plus Diabolic absolutely kills the freestyle at the end.
