You only have 481 songs?

Anyway, Wii, can you tell me what artists you already like/listen to?

nimatoad2000

On my current Ipod yes, I have went through about 5 Ipods in my life because of malfunctions, then I have to restart all over again with the music (For the most part).

It will take forever to name all of artists but basically my genre of music ranges from light rock to heavy Metal, I am not a huge fan of Harcore metal, but metal I don't mind.

why dont you backup your songs? or keep them on your hard drive. get an external even, they are cheap. loosing all your music jst because your ipod dies is a stupid thing. all my music ( 128 gigs) is on my ipod, my computer hard drive, and on my external hard drive . failsafe a failsafe with a failsafe.

Because I don't have the time to backup all of my songs,. =/

[QUOTE="nimatoad2000"][QUOTE="tester962"] I completely disagree. You never outgrow being able to make cd's filled with your favorite songs or filling your IPOD with just the songs you love. There are rarely albums out there that every song you enjoy.chessmaster1989

i dont know what music your listening to, but the majority of bands i listen to, every song on every album, especially their early , classic work is good. i used to only get the top songs from a band, or 30 second preview their songs and get the ones that were interesting. i had 7 metallica songs, 10 pink floyd songs, 20 led zeppelin songs, 10 van halen songs, and just a horrible collection, then one day i decided to get entire albums. and listen to them in entirety. I DISCOVERED SOO MANY NEW SONGS , ARTISTS AND ALBUMS. downloading single songs is being a music noob, this was when i was like 15. i went from having about 800 songs, to the 16 thowsand i have now. if i hadnt chosen to actually get cd's then i wouldve still been stuck in ****c rock best of's. its just like listening to the radio, you only get the most popular songs, no deep cuts, no longer songs, no progressive songs, just the singles. its not called listening to music or appreciating a band.

Damn dude, that's insane. :o

sorry, typo , i have 14,869, so i meant to say 15 thowsand. but i'll be past 16 real soon if i get to aqquiring these bands -

entombed, dark angel, hallow's eve, bolt thrower, skelotonwitch, heathen, exumer, atrophy, absu, morbid saint, aura noir, blotted science, spaztic inc, sadus, sauron, demolition hammer, blind illusion, hypnosia, sacrifice, violator, **** realm, pestilence, devastation, rumplestiltskin grinder, evile, deathchain, infernal majesty, parador, mayhem, emperor, burzum, satyricon, morbid angel you could imagine.

I'm surprised you don't already have stuff by some of those bands, given what a big metalhead you are. Anyway, your list has reminded me I have to pick up Altars of Madness at some point...

I'm having trouble believing that you listen to all 14,869 songs, at least more than once per song. And if you do, how the hell do you find time?

Hah you don't have Emperor or Mayhem stuff? Not even the legendary Morbid Angel? You're missing out! :P I don't think you're missing out if you don't have any Skeletonwitch, Evile, or especially Satyricon...such mediocre bands. I guess my opinion is skewed since I dislike the majority of thrash and the revival bands aren't doing anything new. Aura Noir is pretty good though. The rest are fairly decent (Entombed, Bolt Thrower, and all the tech/progressive bands are great!). Absu and Pestilence are good as well.

I'm going to post some of the more progressive or unique bands in their genres (so expect songs up past the ten and twenty minute marks) as well.

Opeth (duh)
Agalloch (another duh; if you haven't checked out these two something's wrong with you)
Mirrorthrone
Ikuinen Kaamos
Nahemah
Lantlos
Alcest
Ulver
Arcturus
Deathspell Omega
Demilich (very well-known in metal)
Indricothere
Behold...The Arctopus
Ulcerate
Drudkh
Lykathea Aflame

And a few others that I'll edit in as soon as I remember. :P

if you use itunes, go into the options, and then advanced options, and check the options to make itunes orgianize your music, and check for it to copy files in library to itunes folder. BOOM all your songs are orgianized to folders by their tags, and all in one folder. no more excuses.

nvr heard someone talk well of belphagor, they opened for kreator along with exodus, and honestly they seemed really cheesy, the leader had us chanting the F word, and then chanting Satan, it wasnt even like.. awesome.. it just made me laugh, the music also seemed really basic, and not that id expect black metal to be technical, but the riffs were just tremelo boringness for the most part.. immortal's pure halocaust made them look like shiet and then he pulled out the mask... LOL...

Anytime man. The Thrash revival stuff (Warbringer, Evile, etc.) might just be down your alley if that's what you're into. It doesn't vary much from Megadeth/early Metallica/Speed Metal influenced material though, which kinda sucks since you've probably heard it all. Satyricon had some good older material, although personally I didn't really like it (still better than their new stuff). I may also suggest Nifelheim. They're one of the better known Blackened Thrash artists out there today along with Aura Noir.

I used to move slow too but this past year I've just been getting right into bands left and right...it's ridiculous. My library has more than doubled in size. :o

[QUOTE="nimatoad2000"] yeah ive gotten behind man, im the kinda guy thatll listen to a band, get hooked, and spend a month listening to them, happened with me with metallica back in the day, then with megadeth, with kreator, immortal and now i think coroner is going to do it to me.. but yeah i pretty much have the best thrash, im only recently moving into the death / black .. the only death metal bands i have are opeth and death lol. thx for the rundown tho dude, i appreciate the reccomendations.Saturos3091

My library hasn't increased much in size lately, I just deleted quite a few old bands I never listened to and added enough metal bands to more than make up for it. Still don't have close to all the artists/albums I want, though. :(

Anaal Nathrakh, Belphegor, and Marduk!

Who is awesome?

You are awesome.

Oh I know. 8)

Seriously I've come to absolutely love Belphegor's new material (Pestapokalypse VI and Bondage Goat Zombie are great albums), I've always loved all of Anaal Nathrakh's stuff, and just recently I got into Marduk.

Pestapokalypse VI was the first album I heard by them and I loved it. My favourite next to Lucifer Incestus.

nvr heard someone talk well of belphagor, they opened for kreator along with exodus, and honestly they seemed really cheesy, the leader had us chanting the F word, and then chanting Satan, it wasnt even like.. awesome.. it just made me laugh, the music also seemed really basic, and not that id expect black metal to be technical, but the riffs were just tremelo boringness for the most part.. immortal's pure halocaust made them look like shiet and then he pulled out the mask... LOL...

It all depends what songs they played. A lot of their early material is just straight up black metal, pure tremolo. Their new stuff (blackened death metal) is quite good (most of it is fairly mixed...they've matured a lot). I think the whole point of the band is to be ridiculously over the top in that regard. They're not very technical, but their sheer aggressiveness and even their solos blow albums like Pure Holocaust and even Battles In The North out of the water. Kinda like Marduk's Panzer Division Marduk. Poor reviews (relatively speaking. Most people in metal bands regard it as a cIassic, most fans say it's terrible), extremely aggressive and powerful album.

Belphegor tends to get pretty good reviews though. In fact their last album got a lot of "top 10 *annual* awards" (although I think the one before it was better).

The song that got me into them was Bondage Goat Zombie, so I have a special love for that album (plus Shred For Sathan is a great song :P). Pestapokalypse VI is my favorite though. Lucifer Incestus is also very good. Much better than Necrodaemon Terrorsathan and Goatreich-Fleshcult although they have some catchy songs too.

I try to buy all of my music, but if there is a song that I cannot find off of Itunes I resort to getting it from somewhere else. At the moment I need to find somewhere to get some Tool.

You can get a lot of music off amazon.com. If you don't want to order a physical CD, you can buy the mp3 on amazon. It costs something like 89 cents per song I think...

Hey hey, TPB is pretty cool stuff. I might have to use them now because what.cd is being lame and banned or whatevered my account because I wasnt uploading (not my fault, nothing ever uploaded and I'd leave it on over night but no one took anything so I just stopped it).
