Marriage is between a man and a woman, Adam and Eve.
Leviticus 18 and 20
Do not have sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman; that is detestable.Orayus
That's nice and all but that should have no bearing on US law (that pesky first amendment gets in the way). I should also point out that as long as you are quoting leviticus that this is relivant.
Pretty sure the second post owned you good and hard.
Marriage has always been evolving. Women used to be property rather than a partner. Women didn't used to get anything after a divorce, women didn't used to be able to trigger a divorce. Different races didn't used to be able to marry.
Do we really need another one of these threads?
If we took every word of the Bible as law, instead of video games, we'd be making burnt offerings.

Marriage is between a man and a woman, Adam and Eve.Ah, so homosexuals simply need to have a different form of sex than the standard missionary the bible commands men and women to have, and it won't be detestable any more? Good news!

The Old Testament is much more allegorical than literal compared to the New Testament... I hope you know that. We can apply many of the same ideals but in a modern contextOld Testament... typical typical. kingkong0124...The OP quoted the old testament in his OP ffs. The Old Testament...irrelevant...unless it makes a point we like, then suddenly THE ONLY IMPORTANT BOOK EVER...but don't quote it in an effort to show the hypocracy of the bible.

I will state that not all christians believe in the old testament. I'm fairly certain that the majority of members of the church I attend don't give any real credence to the teachings of the old testament. That being said, TC explicitly quoted the old testament so the picture is fair game here.

If Christ died for the sin of all, didn't he die for the sin of gay and lesbian couples? Aren't we suppose to love and protect and support all men and women?

Just not fair game for all Christians, as Droid was trying to show.If a church doesn't want to marry gays they shouldn't be forced to. But you cannot deny gays the right to marry though.

They can have a civil union if they want. It's not marriage though.Exactly my point. It's not equal. That means in the US and many other countries, gay people are not equal. Much like minorities used to be.

Droid, along with you, has a long history of being anti-religion...I'm not anti-religion in the slightest (if I were I would not be a Buddhist). Just anti-people who want to impose their religious beliefs on others. Again, drop the persecution complex.

Leviticus is from the Old Testament, so is Genesis. If we go by that logic of disregarding the Old Testament there sould be no discrimination against gays by Christians, and no such thing as young earth creationists.
