I'm not trying to generalise here, but this is something I have observed.

I know this isn't true for all republicans, but I have noticed something with quite a few of them I know. Several ones I know treat democrats and liberals like subhumans, who don't deserve to hold any office. It's like they've been taught from birth that all liberals are the spawn of satan. I have never heard a democrat saying something similar about a republican. Is this some odd phenomenon in my area, or is it like this for the entire U.S.? It just seems kind of childish.

Again, I don't mean every republican. I'm not trying to bash republicans at all, this is just an observation I've made.

Politics=childish, regardless of country of origin. Maybe if we looked at things more objectively when dealing with the human condition and setting up a government, politics wouldn't be so dog**** annoying.

I don't think they are the spawn of satan lol. I just don't understand how people would think the liberal way of thinking actually is good for a country. Their ideas would be great in a perfect world, but this isn't a perfect world.

It does seem like they try to use "liberal" as a demeaning insult, but the other side doesn't really do that much with "conservative."

lol republicans.

Most are far-right Christian and Zionist supporters who fuel nothing but more war and misery around the world to achieve their own global and religious aims. Many of these people think they are doing God's work in the Middle East. How's your wars going for you Bush.

It's true, at least to an extent. Maybe due to the McCarthy era, bashing anything liberal has just become a trend among conservatives.

There's so much hypocrisy within the republican camp it's untrue, especially from those that profess to be religious and Christians and republicans. The fact is the people they denigrate by labelling "liberal" through their actions are probably much closer to the teachings of Jesus as set out in the New Testament than their own "conservative" ideas.

And then you've got their war mongering attitude, and they lace their arguments by bringing God into it. I thought being a religious extremist was wrong? or is fighting in the name of Jesus OK, but everyone else around the world bad, bad, bad.

I think any one who thinks every idea from one political view as golden and the other crap as childish and stupid.. No party is perfect, the democrat party has some good ideas and bad ideas.. Just like the conservative party.. To say otherwise is just showing how bias you are. Fun tip the majority of the US are moderates, apparently it isn't as lopsided as you guys think..

Erm, so??? Who is that money going to is what you should be asking. Money that gets sent to Israel so that nation can buy more weapons and arms. And a lot of it goes on missionary work around the world which inevitably leads to conflict in certain countries which don't want it.

I never said that don't try twisting words. What I was referring to was members within the Republican camp who see the wars in the middle east as God's work. The far-right evangelist movement.

I'm Christian and Republican. None of my political beliefs have to do with my religious beliefs. I am all for a very very powerful military. I'm all for going to war if another country is a threat. I live in THIS country.. and I want THIS COUNTRY safe at all costs. Being a peaceful, tree hugging hippy is great. Everybody wishes they could be. It's great if you are, but other countries aren't. Other countries want to harm the U.S. If other countries won't accept peace, then we can't either. It's just reality.

Money donated under charitable causes can be used for a variety of things, not just for fighting cancer or hospitals.. Like I said the republicans may give more money but to whom does it go to?? And charity is only one aspect of the teachings of God. The so called "liberal" people that republicans like to denigrate are a lot more open and tolerant of other people and faiths than these so called "conservative" republicans. Somthing which they seem to forget.

Then so be it. War over seas kicking their asses is a hell of a lot better than sitting at home with our thumb up our ass preaching about how we are peaceful and wish no harm upon anyone, while they bomb us here and start a war here at home. If we just sit back every time, then there will be more and more threats. Eventually nobody will be scared of starting war with the U.S. If we remain tough on threats then other countries will get the message. War is not good at all, but it is the way the world works.

Also, I'm like the conservative idea better, but I'm athiest, live in one of the highest-jew populated cities in the US and have muslim and hindu friends. I'm not complaining

You do realize that under UN sanctions that a country can really only defend it self.. It can't pre-empt on countries.. And yet agian your oversimplifying.. I am quite sure every one would agree on a war like World war 2.. You know one we were actually attacked on.. When does being against certain wars make you classified as a tree hugging hippy? Alot of countries want to harm the US because of our foreign policy which has infringed on their government and peopels rights.. If you didn't know this Iran's government is almost directly created by the US.. During the 60s the CIA with the help of extremists (they used FREEDOM fighters as the term though) overthrew Irans democraticaly elected president.. why? Because 3 days earlier he basically gave the finger to the US because he felt the country was being ripped off by western powers for their oil.. He was conviently afterward claimed to be a communist and overthrown.. Which we then put the dictator, Shah, into power.. Which lead to this dictator.

And what are you talking about accepting peace? When was the last time the US was attacked direclty by a government? Iran and North Korea for instance are seen as huge threats.. And apparently Bush wants to bomb Iran now.. Under what grounds?

lol republicans.

Most are far-right Christian and Zionist supporters who fuel nothing but more war and misery around the world to achieve their own global and religious aims. Many of these people think they are doing God's work in the Middle East. How's your wars going for you Bush.

Then prepare for a century of war without a winner. ;)

It's not going to be a hundred year war

Yeah you're right, the US will get bankrupt long before then.

It does seem like they try to use "liberal" as a demeaning insult, but the other side doesn't really do that much with "conservative."

Hoobinator

There's so much hypocrisy within the republican camp it's untrue, especially from those that profess to be religious and Christians and republicans. The fact is the people they denigrate by labelling "liberal" through their actions are probably much closer to the teachings of Jesus as set out in the New Testament than their own "conservative" ideas.

And then you've got their war mongering attitude, and they lace their arguments by bringing God into it. I thought being a religious extremist was wrong? or is fighting in the name of Jesus OK, but everyone else around the world bad, bad, bad.

I know, I'm always bewildered when I think of how ironic it is.

The sad fact is they're kicking your asses.

wtf are you talking about? CHARITY not Israeli weapons, but CHARITY. You know, the kind that helps fight cancer and such things :|
Hoobinator

Money donated under charitable causes can be used for a variety of things, not just for fighting cancer or hospitals.. Like I said the republicans may give more money but to whom does it go to?? And charity is only one aspect of the teachings of God. The so called "liberal" people that republicans like to denigrate are a lot more open and tolerant of other people and faiths than these so called "conservative" republicans. Somthing which they seem to forget.

wow you're just really getting desperate now hoob... do you have your tinfoil hat on right now? the republicans might be using their brain power machine to get into your head....

I don't agree with Hob either.. But one thing that is disconcerting is how much the evangelical movement is growing.. And they fully support the Republican party.. With things like wanting to go agains tthe constiution and injecting religion into public schools, some even want to outlaw birth control.. This isn't every body but its a constant growing power in the neo conservative side of the Republican party.. That does give me a little fear that some of these thigns may happen if the numbers grow.. But then again who knows, extremely liberal groups like PETA are just as scary but fortantely they arn't growing in numers.

Yeah, I did mention far-right though, to distinguish them from mainstream repubicans. I didn't stereotype the whole party or its electorate.

A war that is off and on isn't a constant war, it would be a series of wars. Although I knew you were going to link you to that page, I hope you know that the "Hundred Years' War" was only 81 years long :|
