Requiem for a Dream is the most depressing film I have ever seen.

Seriously, I just watched it today and it made me cry for the first time in three years. Have you guys seen it? Thoughts?

Didn't cry but it's a very hard movie to watch. They should probably show it as a PSA in high school health classes.

It was a Darren Aronofsky film, what were you expecting? The Wrestler and Black Swan were far from happy films.

Idk, those films were tense as well, but something about this one just got to me.

I agree, and it kind of makes me wonder why the hell he's never good in anything else. It sucks to see someone with obvious talent piss it away.

Anyway, yes, Requiem is a sad one. I've seen worse, but I must admit I'm not in a hurry to repeat the experience.

One of my favorite movies, but oh my god is it hard to watch. The climax especially. "BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZRT!"

The Wrestler made me happy, actually.

*spoiler*

I mean, the guy died doing what he loved. A lot of us are not going to be lucky enough to choose when, where, and how we are going to die...but he was.

I felt sorry for the mom at the end of that movie. Everyone else got what they deserved, more or less.

Such a powerful movie. Really captures the velocity of young people lol. I can't believe the same guy who made that made the fountain. *Shudder*.

It is an all around good movie. Did a pretty good job showing how addiciton can take hold and overwhelm your life. Pi, originally, put Aronofsky on the map and Requiem sealed him as a director to watch, for me.

A powerful film. I remember not even moving during the credits. I was thinking of what I had just witnessed.

Glad I'm not the only one TC. Depressing but it was a great movie and it surprised me to see Marlon Wayans in something other than a comedy. He really is talented. All of the Wayans Bros are.

Off-topic:the wrestler sucked. I just saw it a few weeks ago and I was like what the heck is this crap! What was so good about that movie to warrant it such great reviews.

Yeah, it was very depressing, but that's why I loved it. It's a great movie to show your friend if they ever consider doing heoin :P Also, just thought I'd add, this is probaby one of my favorite movie titles, it sounds so beautiful, yet the meaning is so dark. It's great.

i liked the movie very much! didn't depress me though.

What did was a lesser known title called 'The Gray Zone'. That messed me up for months.

I agree with this, although Ellen Burstyn gave a fantastic performance.

I've seen it, and it's one of my favorite live-action films, but 'depressing' isn't what I would call it.
