Children are too fragile and easily impressed.. the slightest comment or action could change their life forever. They aren't ready to do anything or learn anything properly until a later age. School should start at 18. We should be getting out of high school at 30. Who agrees? This is the only way to let people decide for themselves what path they want to follow. During these 18 years.. kids could be having fun.. running around.. playing.. you know kids stuff. We are robbing them of their innocence and younger years. Who is with me?

That's a really bad idea. The reason we're taught so young is because we're so receptive in those years. The older we are, the less receptive we are.

so based upon your logic....if we learn things later in life: we would do better? or enjoy more? or maybe you simply hated school and wanted to be bigger so the other guys wouldnt bully you?

Lol? I don't see how you came to that conclusion. We would still be the same age... we would still be peers. I actually had some great moments in school.

Kids will be fine.. people learn how to survive.

That doesn't mean they'll learn the right way. It could lead to some rampant immorality. Hell, immorality is encouraged in the animal kingdom (morality from our perspective).

That's a terrible idea. The problem isn't that we teach children too much at an early age, but that we teach them the wrong things.

We need an education system that teaches kids to how to learn, and to enjoy learning, rather than just doing what they have to do to get a grade.

Hey, you used two periods after "man"! That's one more than required to indicate the conclusion of a sentence, and one less than what is necessary to form a proper ellipsis!

See how stupid it is to get on someones case for a simple slang term or a misspelling? Just stop, it's immature.

Being on the defensive is always bad kids. Face the fact that I am correct instead of saying, "LOOK AT YOU!!!! YOU DO IT TOO!!!" We can attack me after the first argument is settled.

You said you couldn't take me seriously because I said "gotta", then you turn around and make a minor grammatical mistake yourself. By your standards, no one should take you seriously either. Not that they should take you seriously anyway, your idea is utter garbage.

Being on the defensive is normal in any argument and is no indication of who is right. The idea is inherently bad for many reasons, such as:

you really couldn't use your education for long, given how you need to go through college to get a job (not including grad school, which would exacerbate things).
its been proven that its easier to learn things when young.
school teaches children social skills they wouldn't really learn elsewhere.
since kids are playing all the time (usually physical activities), the lack of school would lead to more anti-intellectual feelings in America/wherever its applied.

Anything else?

[QUOTE="Diablo112688"]Being on the defensive is always bad kids. Face the fact that I am correct instead of saying, "LOOK AT YOU!!!! YOU DO IT TOO!!!" We can attack me after the first argument is settled. Video_Game_King

You are thinking of the obvious answers. You are still trying to mantain the structure that is set in this world.

When did I ask to be taken seriously anyway?

Video_Game_King

So this is a joke topic?

It is just a topic. Take things for what they are.

Then what are the obscure answers? Have you taken the time to think of them, of any flaws with your idea?

Hmm you fail to understand that I can point out flaws in you even if I have them as well. I never said I did not. When did I ask to be taken seriously anyway? Open your mind to what might be going on in my head.

Diablo112688

Flaws? What kind of flaws? "Gotta" is accepted slang, and using it in no way indicates a flaw. I'm not arguing that I'm flawless and you're not, I'm saying that your response...

Yeah let us take advice from someone who says gotta?..

...is completely baseless and immature. As for the bolded portion of the quoted post, frankly I'd rather not; with "marvelous" ideas such as the one this topic is dedicated to, I'm not at all inclined to see what other crap is floating around up there ^_^

I meant I was right about my observation on that guy's post... not on the idea I gave.

It is just a topic. Take things for what they are.

But what is it meant to be taken as? Serious or joke? You seem fairly serious, which makes it painful either way.

[QUOTE="Hewkii"]isn't it harder to educate people the older they are?Diablo112688

As far as I know no.. and I know a lot.

It's a proven fact in the psychological world that it is more difficult to learn when your older.

Lol. There is no such thing as acceptable slang. The language is the language. I guess it does not matter anymore... we have killed it long ago. It makes you sound ignorant. I am sure you will attack me again and point out something here.. since you are still failing to understand the idea behind this. Zing Zing right? lol.......................ROFLE COPPTERESER. There I made it easy for you to continue your crusade.

Depends on what you mean by slang and where it is you're talking about. I'd say slang is fairly acceptable, given that its sometimes taught in high school language classes. And when did we kill it? Last 50 years? The English tongue can still be used artfully. And what's the idea behind your....idea? If its what I think it is, your idea was horribly doomed from the beginning.
