[QUOTE="battlefront23"]Outlaw guns and eventually their source of guns will dry up.Why outlaw guns though? You'd have to somehow collect and destroy every gun out there. That's just not going to happen without some serious backlash. Besides, there's a big sport industry for all of them... handguns, rifles, shotguns, etc. Ignoring the people out there, you don't think that these businesses wouldn't be a bit upset? Don't forget that hunting is a source of food as well. It's more expensive for the gov't to do animal control than for them to be considered wild game to be hunted under regulation. It is infringing on your rights. Outlaw guns and outlaws will be the only ones with guns. ;)

To many guns out there, as well as the reasons you mention. For countries where guns aren't allowed, I think it should stay that way...
In my state of Massachusetts you have to get licences to have all different types of guns and then more licenses to carry a concealed weapon. It is such a long complicated process that it really turns a lot of people away from guns. Maybe that is their overall plan?!?!

Some PVC Pipe, some duct tape, a clothes pin, a spring, and a piece of plumbing pipe and you've got yourself a working gun. Ammunition isn't any harder to make, either. Heck you can get potassium nitrate from piss, then all you need is sulfur and charcoal.

You can not take it literally fromt heir definitin.. Because they specifically said arms, by today's standards that can be any amount of volitile weapons from c4 to biological weapons.. So obviously there needs to be some interpretation, the founding fathers weren't quite the visionaries we give them credit with as seen from this as example.. That being said shotguns, pistols, rifles are just fine.. The only weapons I don't understand why it should be legal are automatic and assualt weapons.. Both are specifically ment for killing people and are arms that are more dangerous than our average law enforcement officer carries.whet40

That I can agree with, but I think dsmccracken is being too fatalistic about it. Gun crime actually drops in places where citizens are known to carry guns for the reasons I mentioned before. It doesn't make one country better than another.
America has too many guns, too many gun-related fatalities, too much violence in general. Gun control is not the answer, because quite simply there is no answer. You're too far gone, nothing will help now.dsmccracken
Well, I agree that simple citizens/average joes should have never been able to own their own arms, but unfortunately, there are so many guns out there already, that it is just going to be even more problamatic to try and get rid of them now. Hopefully there will be better gun control soon that will hopefully prevent more irresponsible people or criminals from getting guns and reduce gun-related crimes.
I support our second ammendment to the fullest, but I do agree with a ban on civilians owning automatic weapons. What I hate is when people talk about banning semi autos or hell, some people even think they should ban any gun with more than 5 roundsa magazine.

It all depends on what you prefer, everyone with guns or no one (except the few criminals who get illegally).
Its as I said from a much older post....I only said AK-47 or M16 to use as an example for the term Firearms....I myself wouldnt even go that far. Yet people keep saying Its fine its fine, but why do you need and automatic weapon? Well what would i need an automatic weapon for.....I wouldnt kill someone with it. My only need for an automatic weapon is indeed to protect myself should my home be invaded, but otherwise I'd just use it for sport. Shooting ranges.. Thats all. Like I said, I used AK-47 and M16 for the term Firearms, plus those two "firearms" are well known. :|I support our second ammendment to the fullest, but I do agree with a ban on civilians owning automatic weapons. This guy i knew back in the day owned a gatling gun, called it his street sweeper.
If you wanna carry your gun come here to texas. where i belive we can now carry on campuses. which is good news, while my wife was in school there was a dude going around raping women, if women coulda carried a weapon back then that dude wouldnt of gotten very far.
see what you libs dont get is that if you pass gun laws then that takes the guns out of the lawfull citizens hands, the drug dealers, the gang bangers, and all of the criminals will still have weapons because they dont care about the law.
