Riots over sports = epitome of man's stupidity?

That's funny people rioting over sport. I mean damn I'm an avid supporter of Geelong in the AFL over here in Australia and three years ago after 44 years of waiting we won the title again. Best feeling we had in years and the closest fans came to rioting was a gathering of about 13,000 in the middle of street just celebrate and climb light posts while cars floored it down the road honking the horn. The cars honking lasted for days lol.

Adds more to why I hate the Lakers and a lot of their fans.

i could understand a city like cleveland who hasn't won a championship in over 40+ years going crazy like that but LA has seen 16CHAMPIONSHIPS. you would think they would be over this...

When you've won back to back there is no reason to riot. Hell if you win there is no reason to riot. 40+ years without a win and you make it to the final only to fall short now that's when you riot.

Buffalo should be leveled to the ground then by this point. 4 botched Super Bowls. 2 Stanley Cup appearances with the notorious NO GOAL.

My city should be levelled to the ground three times over. In '89 we were down by 60 something points at half-time only to comeback and lose by just 6 points which is a goal. '92 up by 32 going in to half-time by the end lost by about the same margin. In '95 we were absolutley rolled by 70 something points. Lucky I either wasn't alive or old enough to remember them or I might have snapped.

The funny thing was we had the best player to ever play the game playing for us. He was so good they nicknamed him God and we had good forwards and midfielders supporting him but our defence was weak as piss. It's funny because now our team is the exact opposite, we have the best defence and midfield in the league but our forward line is our weakest spot on the field.

You know what I can't believe? My friends that are laker fans being able to be so smug and braggy about the Lakers for another year.

I hate the Lakers with every bone in my body :x

It's their choice to riot over it, but they should be severely punished.

It's insulting to modern society to run around damaging other people's property and harming other people just to revel in your primitive tribal feelings, IMO.

Ohhh but Lakers wins yet another title and its Armageddon in LA. I guess I am missing something... maybe its the epitome of Laker fans.

sports = modern tribal warfare

that urge to battle is still deep in us, only now we let sports teams represent us.

sometimes it gets out of control. Stupid? A little bit. Understandable? Absolutely
