[QUOTE="Deku_Grumble"]Okay.I'm not trying to bash rap, but I'm tired of hearing about banging chicks, and running from the cops, and that AYE, OH, AYE, OH, AYE, OH bullcrap. The stations here play rock from the 80's to now.
Maaarrrz
But what would you rather have, sex or Breaking Benjamin?
I think rap wins in that respect.
Breaking Benjamin hands down!
Rock, by far. I can listen to pretty much any genre of music but rap...King_Creole_35
Elvis kicked it ghetto style too.

THINKING rap is just "yo me bi*chs and hoes, got me bling bling" IS NOT the truth. more underground rap looks at far more important topics like politics and company's

Rap isnt really music in my opinion even ...theres really no talent to it and talent with instruments is not required
So of coarse rock is a million times better...

Can you wright an amazing rap song right nowor freestyle, also the roots(a hip hop group) play instruments in their songs.

:o Dr. Dre is one of the greatest Hip-Hop producers! I know lyrically he's not very inspired but you can't deny his skill behind the boards.

Don't get me wrong rap its ok (Public Enemy and Run DMC rlz 8) ),
But most of rap rap song can never be compared with a work by Bob Dylan or John Lennon in terms of lyrics

The Chronic
Doggystyle
Have you listened to them?
BTW producer is different from DJ. You don't have to scratch or cut to be a good producer.

I prefer Rock, but I like the anti-authoritarian message in hip-hop, modern counter-culture is tied with rap music, so regardless of how I feel about some of it, ehh whatever
and i'd say some of the better rap, hip-hop whatever artists are better than modern rock, because other than some stuff that is low-key rock is in a pretty bad state.

im back.
i used to be a fan of dres stuff 2... then i found some cypress hill. i made a thread asking for some old skool hip-hop. somebody pointed me towards the JUX stuff. i just cant look at dres stuff seriously after hearing it. i mean i can still listen to it, i just don't rate it highly

YeahYes
popular music in general is in a pretty bad-state lol. rock andhip-hop have been hit hard by the mindless cr*p
Some rock is better , but rap has been hit hard in the face by this 50pence guy. Eminem was great (some songs ok bit dodegy) but it wasnt this mindless "yo ho bois in my lowrider lick my lollipop or ill pop u in the face with my uzi" its just really bad now =[
old stuff rap is good, but rock back in its day was the best =D.... although sayin that lostprophets are my fav band ever 1st 2 albums owned but the 3rd kinda confused me but its still awesome.

I'm the other way round. When I first got into Hip-Hop I wouldn't go near Death Row or any gangsta/hardcore rap with a ten foot pole. But I couldn't front on Dre's production. Besides Def Jux have a completely different sound from Dre, you can't compare them.
One type of music isn't just better than another. You can prefer one, but neither is more artistic, requires more talent, or is just better.
I like everything except metal and country really. I listen to rock, hip hop, classical, opera, musical, emo, punk, electronica...It's all good.
TallicaFan2005
i disagree on the whole talnet part seeing as some only require you to speak while someone else sets up your music and all you do is talk/sing
[QUOTE="AncientNecro"]rock by far, most popular rap just has the same four words going over and over to the same beat for three minutes... mind-numbingly boringjim1029
THANK YOU.
