The day that news of Ryan Dunn's death broke out, film critic Roger Ebert spoke out about the daredevil's car accident, which has since been proven to be due to him driving under the influence of alcohol, on his Twitter: "Friends don't let jackasses drive drunk."
He has received a serious backlash from fans of Dunn, and even from Dunn's longtime best friend Bam Margera: "I just lost my best friend, I have been crying hysterical for a full day and piece of **** roger ebert has the gall to put in his 2 cents," and in another Tweet, "About a jackass drunk driving and his is one, **** you! Millions of people are crying right now, shut your fat ******* mouth!"
However, many of Ebert's followers and others have defended Ebert's remarks, commenting on Dunn's reckless driving under the influence. Amid the lash from critics and fans about the remarks being "too soon," Ebert has since apologized for the Tweets.
What do you make of Ebert's remarks? Do you feel they were too soon after Ryan Dunn's death and therefore considered insensitive? Or were they a proper notice of reckless driving and alcohol abuse?
